Sorry for the newbie question here.
Searched the forum and also studied the 200 series tire size database but still have a fitment question.

I chatted a few times with Tirerack, and they kept saying that 17" wheel wouldn't clear 14 LX570's large brake.
Only 18" wheel clears the 14 LX570's large brake.
On Tirerack website, I used 2014 Tundra to search the correct bolt pattern wheel for LX.
Tirerack agent told me that Tundra brake is smaller than LX570, however, I have seen many LX570 with 17" wheels.

Anyway, following wheel fits with 14 LX570 without any issue?
Should I stay with +35 offset or +15?

Brand ALPHAEQUIPT WHEELS
Size: 17x8.5
Offset: +35mm
Backspacing: 6.141"
Bolt Pattern: 5-150

What's the maximum size of tire I can fit without rubbing or sensor lift?
Many thanks in advance!

17” will fit. Those Alpha equipt wheels are a great option. If you want absolute plug and play you should stick with a stockish fitment like 265/70/17 however with super minor adjustments you can easily run a 285/70/17 or even 285/75/17.

Tire rack couldn’t be more wrong if they tried.

2008-2015 LC/LX brakes are smaller than similar year tundra brakes. There was a trim of the tundra known as “rock warrior” that came from Toyota with special forged 17” wheels. They are tight (on tundras) but do clear.

2016-2021 LC/LX brakes are same size as tundra brakes.

Many 17” wheels will not fit later model 200s, but some do just fine. Icon, rock warriors, some methods, etc. Due to the smaller front brakes more 17s will fit 08-15 200s.. but it basically has to be tried to see what will happen.

If it fits a 5x150 bolt pattern tundra, it will clear your brakes easily.

I really like 285/75/17... just not ready to cut the fender liner.
Although I have no problem message the liner with a heat gun or remove mud guards to clear the tire.

Glad I asked here... very informative!
Should I stick with +35mm or +15mm offset to avoid rubbing when using perhaps 285/75/17 AT tires such as Toyo?
So I can pretty much input any 2015 or less Tundra 4x4 truck as a base to search the tirerack to find my wheels for LX570?

+35mm is what you want and is an excellent offset for our platform. That'll put the tire sidewalls nicely flush with the fenders while maintaining scrub radius geometry in its sweet spot.

In case you're curious, +15 is not great. Counterintuitively, it'll cause more clearance issues than it solves as the front tires will swing more as it turns. It'll put the tires outside of the fenders likely causing them to hit on compression. It'll also make for bad suspension geometry creating steering, traction, and handling compromises.

I just bought the AE echo in 17” 35mm offset. They’re going to get mounted tomorrow. I’ll update if they don’t fit, but others have already fit the rim and confirmed.
As to the brakes, they are the same size tundra to 200 thru 2015. I am literally running tundra rotors and pads right now. In the gen3 200 and later year tundras I think there was a larger brake rotor option and different caliper. I don’t know for sure, as i don’t pay too much attention to the gen3 as it different from my gen 1.

Truly an excellent advice and info...
Much better than my a week long research without going anywhere.

Keep us updated with pictures!
Did you get the wheels from them?
What tire size and brand you went with?
thanks

Same story as you. Forced tire rack to display the wheel and offset I wanted by choosing a tundra from 2009.
It is one of the worst interfaces I have experienced in years. You can’t just search by rim diameter offset and bolt pattern. After you order there is no record of the offset and diameter on the order. Truly amazing.
They did include some chrome lugnuts for free. It costs $50 to get black lugnuts later, you might want to ask them to send you black on your order.
Shipped fast and packaged well.

You’ll want to note that these wheels have two valve holes. One armored hole for the tpms, one for a rubber or rapid deflator valve. I got the apex rapid deflators, and they are going to be excellent. I already put them in the rims so the tire shop can’t screw up their install.

Yes! not sure what's the logic behind their limited search function and dubious interface.
Thanks for the Rapid Deflators! didn't even think about that!
Glad I saw your reply and will definitely order one.
Did you also order a set of TPMS?

What tire size and brand you went with?
thanks
35x10.5r17 Kenda Klever RT. It’s a D range LT in 3 ply with a duratrac like tread, newer compound and lots of positive reviews.
It’s roughly a 267/85r17
I have 4.88s and wouldn’t recommend a 34.5” tire without gears.
I like skinnies, and they make a nice contact patch when aired down.
Most don’t like ‘skinnies’. Reality is that a 267 is still a wide tire. A 315 (12.5”) is wider, sure, but also a more challenging fitment.
I’m actually tire down a little over my current 275/80r18, which lightly run into the upper liners at compression. I think the extra 1/2” of clearance will remediate this.

No, I have a lot of tpms running around. This will make four sets of tires, three of which are in my backyard and need to move on.

Do you think 285/75/17 will fit stock LX without major issue or regearing needed?
I don't want to open up the rear axel for E-locker or regear yet.

Yes will fit but you’ll have adjust fender liner and probably remove front mud flap. Any over sized fitment would benefit from regear but not necessary for a 285/75 IMO. It essentially a big 33 and if you go with something like a KO2 it will probably run small.

Thank you always find your reply and post very helpful!
Do you think 75 vs 70 makes some different while off-roading?
I'm not going to have any SKID for my LX and trying to build out my rig fairly light this time with no steel bumpers, etc.

5 percent of 285 is 14mm. So it is 7mm radius difference between a 75 and 70. Probably not a deal breaker either way. Which size has more quality tire options in it?

So I tried again to pull the trigger on a set of 17” rims for my ‘13 LX. Been looking for RW for about 4 years with no luck as I would like to stay as close to OEM filament as possible. Had a set of method 703’s 17” +35 on order since September. Just got word that tire rack has some alpha equipt rims on close out. So went to Order the alpha COMMAND in 17”x8.5 +35 for $159/rim. Tire rack said it won’t fit. I called Alpha Equipt directly they also said the tundra so the wheel won’t fit due to the 200 having a larger front hub bore

Also anyone have the Alpha Equipt wheels on a 200?

I responded to your other post, but they fit fine. Tundra and 200 share hubs from 2007 on. I just put in the Tire Rack vehicle that I was fitting a 2009 Tundra.
