Putting Toyo at3’s on tomorrow

I wouldn't be afraid to change the fluid at 143k. There is a great video on this forum that tells how. Most critical is to pin open the thermostat to get flow to the cooler, and then using the correct ODB reader to monitor the trans temp when refilling.

As far as the belt goes, Gates makes good stuff but I would always use Toyota OEM, as the quality is very hard to beat.

I run the Toyo AT3's in a 285/55/20 and have been very happy with them. Switched out the Michelin Latitudes that were on there. I put them about 3 months and 6k miles ago. Have had them in dry, wet, snow, and dirt and they have not disappointed.

I too am weighing whether to change my trans fluid. I am at 147k miles on my '11. Would prefer to have it done but some shops have been hesitant with the miles.

A couple pics of my car with the Toyos:

Looks great putting the Toyo at3’s on in the morning changing oil an using trd filter and the gates fleet belt. The belt was pretty exspensive but should last

Ughhh....be preapared for pan bolts to snap. Soak them in whatever...PB blaster, ATF solution...maybe there are other tips. Most of those bolts go through tranny housing and rust on the other side. If you snap them, don't use stud remover. Drill them out carefully and re-thread the holes. The rest is easy...3 holes: drain, fill and level check along with built-in temp check. Inlike germans with their single hole crap.

There is good DIY video on draining cooler, too.

How much will dealer charge ? Any idea.. I need this rig to live as long as possible

I had 900 estimate from Indy (500 for parts/fluid and 400 for labor) and i passed on it. What you can do i just skip the filter replacement (and hence keep the pan on) and do only the flush.
Dealer will not flush the whole think either.
