Hi all,

I've just replaced the water outlet housing (the bit below the thermostat), and damaged one of the sensors putting it back together.

There are two sensors, both on the left side of the housing. The forward one has a large spade terminal, and my guess is it's the temperature gauge sender. The other one, the broken one, has two thin spade terminals beside each other (one of them now broken off).

Does anyone know what this sensor does? Does it trigger the fan? Or have something to do with the glow plugs?

I've tried looking at the EPC but it's not clear what's going on there.

thanks, Peter

Generally one is for the gauge and the other for the glow system.

Ground the single wire sensor wire, if the gauges goes to full hot, then that's the gauge sensor wire.

If the two wire sensor is green in colour, then it likely goes to the glow ECU. Contact Roodogs in Melbourne, they should have this part available.

The two wire sensor disables the glow screen intake air preheat if the engine is warm. If the plug is disconnected the glow screen intake air preheat activates every time the engine is started

Thanks for that, I'll give Roodogs a call.
