13’-15’ LX vs 16’ LX (1 Viewer)

Looking at used LX’s here in the near future. Currently own an 03’ LX (my off-roader) and love it. We (the wife) previously had an 11’ LX 570 as well. Fast forward to now, I’ve been looking at 13’-15’ LX’s as well as a few 16’s. Besides the price difference, is it worth the 10k jump to the 2016’s? Mechanically, how do they compare next to each other. How are the 2016’s to work on?

To compare, I’ve found a few 13’-15’ CA vehicles with roughly 76k on the clock for 43-46k. I’ve also found a few 16’s for 55k with roughly 110k on the clock. Any insight or advice would be great.

Jumping to the 8-speed in the 2016+ is probably worth it. Much better interior too.

Test drive one to see whether you can deal with the non-touchscreen nav interface.

Beyond that I actually like the styling once you trim the bumper for armor.

I agree with @tbisaacs on the 8spd. Engine is basically the same as earlier models. Will have larger wheels that are worse off road but any upgrades for the earlier trucks will work for 16+ too. Headlights are quite good on 13-15 when aimed correctly but 16+ LEDs are next level.
