I have been using the Donkey regularly and I guess that is hard on the old accessories. I get a howl at the higher revs while accelerating (leisurely at best) and at speeds of 50 mph (90kph on my dial). When I place the key to the off position and rev the engine, the howl is not present but obviously, the lights don't work. Can't drive around like that. The photo shows this particular alternator, but I can't get the numbers That probably wouldn't help me anyway. I have never seen the hook up that way on an alternator before, either.
The vacuum pump is working just fine as braking is very good.
It figures that when I get the old motor running well, steering and brakes up to snuff that another unobtainium item starts going tango uniform.
I thank any and all advice (except scrapping the whole thing)
Thanks, Dave
