12HT install

Hi all,

I recently installed a 12HT into a HJ61. I am wondering if anybody has had any troubles with the lining up and correct angle of the engine upon re-installing. Mine doesn't seem to sit right and I'm looking for tips or any problems that you guys might have come across and what remedy was used to correct it.

Which angle? If its a HJ61 it came with a 12HT so everything should be sweet, you use the correct gearbox mount?

What is your original engine?

It seems to be sitting in the engine bay with the front part closer to the left than the rear. I'll try to get a picture up so that you can see. The mount should be the right one unless I was supplied the wrong one.

12HT was the original engine, I just got it without it but the one in it was just pulled out and had no probs.... Saw it for myself.

I "think" there is some side to side adjustment in the gearbox mount or cross member, though I have no idea if its meant to be square in the engine bay to start with.

Its OK, ALL the ones I have seen sit like that. Its quite funny because I always pride Toyota on their engineering, but it seems there was a cost saving or afterthought there or something.

It does look weird though, but normal!

my 2H it's sitting same way in my HJ60 ..

I put a 12H-T in a -60. That cought me off guard as well. Perfectly normal, I'm told.
