Hi

I have been reading some old post regards putting an intercooler on a 12h-t engine.

My truck is used for towing a horsefloat with two big boys in it (over 17 hands) and a few more engine neddies would not go astray.

I do not know a lot about turbos apart from the basics so bear with me..

Will an intercooler increase the max. acheivable boost pressure?
My guess is no, the air is just colder and denser but at the same pressure?

How can you adjust the boost on a factory turboed engine?

What is the max boost on a 12h-t? My boost gauge is reading a shade over 8psi.

What should the max. exhaust temp be?

thanks for any advice

An intercooler should give you the ability to boost at higher pressures. But that also depends on how efficient your turbo is...

I thought you can go with an intercooler over 12 PSI .. safe boos press. So also you need to check you EGT ( exhaust gas temp ) the max will be 1250ºF over there for a long perior and you get melted pistons ..
