So I read somewhere that the 105 has different body panels than the 100 (ifs). Anyone know any specifics on this?

On a quick glance, it does seem the 105 is smaller than the 100.

It has a different frame, but the panels are the same.

The 105s you are showing are the basic G model which comes without all the plastic side trims and around the windows.. In this part of the world, Diesel and I6 engines are available as a 100 or a 105 G, GX, GX-R models which are basic, mid-range, top of the line respectively.. the V8 are only available here as VX-R which has different options packages.. Some of the different models available are listed here

Look the same to me...

They do come with side strips if you want them, see below.
What I think makes them look different is the different back spacing with the 16 in split rims.
I have an idea you cant fit them to a 100 because of the IFS.
105s also seem to sit level while the 100 sits 30mm lower than the rear.
Its possible the 105 is sitting on a 80 series chassis?

i think one other big reason the 105s look smaller in the picture is, they have different smaller bumpers and that they have much larger tires. that would throw you off at a quick glance.

Siglo,

Thanks for the link to the UAE Toyota website. I visited the Abu Dhabi dealership last week to see if I could get a brochure so I could get a handle on all the different LCs I was seeing. I think this is the dealership that supposedly sells a Toyota every 45 minutes.

The UAE must be the land of the Land Cruiser. Seemed like every other car on the road was an LC.

I don't think it's identical to an 80 frame, but I believe it is very, very close.
