So I've got a leaking steering box and wouldn't mind an easy upgrade. General consensus is that the later 80 boxes have more assist and bolt straight into the 85+ 60 series (mines a 1990 HJ60 AUS if the matters). I can find a 105 steering box cheaper than an 80 box these have the added benefit of a larger sector shaft. Only reason I think it will fit is the the chassis reinforcement plates you can get for 80/105 around the steering box area fit both vehicle so the bolt pattern on the box must match. Soy thinking is a 105 box should fit unless I'm missing something like tie rod end, steering column, or the hose sizes. Anyone dealt with these much and have any idea?
