mabrodis said:I think the engine might be shared, different versions probably but both are 4.7L Lexus-bred V8's. I can't imagine the non-LC ones getting the high-end tranny the LC gets (5sp auto), but I guess that is a possibility. The rearend in the Tundra up till now has been the same as the Tacoma, only wider, but same 3rd member (8"?), I would guess that's what the Sequoia got also, not sure on the new 4Runner, but I would not expect Toyota to put in a LC rearend when I'm sure the Tundra-ish ones are cheaper, and more than up to the task.
Not sure on the front suspension, I know the older 4runners/Tundras were definetly not like the Cruiser, but haven't looked closely at a new 4runner, but my guess is they would be like the Sequoia, which is not like the LC, similar, heck all Toyota vehicles are 'similar', but the LC just always seems to be built better/stronger/smarter than the cheaper Toyota vehicles.

Landpimp said:odd that the Tundra got more power for 2005 but the 100 did not.
jjbodean1970 said:the 100 will get that extra power about middle of the 2005 model year, the GX 470 got it for 2005, but it wasn't introduced until late December
the shed guy said:The Lexus GX 470 shares 100 size cv joints, has a larger front diff, but runs the same rear diff as the 3 above, in a stronger housing, but coil suspension rear, compared to tundra/tacoma.
tabraha said:shed guy: What is a 90 series Prado compare to in the US market, 4Runner? My tacoma would rip the wheel wells out with 285's on it and doesn't have the ground clearance that my 100 has.

You're right. It'd take 2 of those to kick 1 100 series! One to ride and one to pull the other out!
