I would like to personally invite all you 100series owners to attend Cruise Moab this year. Dates are May 4-7 but many of us arrive the weekend before to make a week of it. Registration opens Jan 2
Cruise Moab - Toyota 4x4 event in Moab, UT
TLCA membership required, but you already have that anyway.

Preregistration is required and the event sells out by mid February every year.

Last year all the 100's did Fins and Things on Friday. I'm open to sugestions on what we should run together? Last year there were 7 of us. Can we hit 8 this year? Porcupine rim? Elephant Hill? Wipe out Hill? These are all 100 friendly trails with small likelyhood of damage. If you've never been to Moab, this a great oportunity to learn. Sliders are pretty much mandatory.

I will bring spare cv axle among other things.:hmm:

I'll be there !!!

Took the whole spring semester off just to make this event. Looking forward to meeting a bunch of mudders. Let me know which runs to sign up for.:bounce:

Far...any idea when the site is going to be updated for the 2011 event?

Not sure if I will be bringing the 4Runner or the 100 this time.

Looks like 2,100 miles from my place in VA... It's on my todo list... Any east coasters making the voyage? As much as I'd like to bring my FJ40 I could haul azz in the 100 and make much better time...

No word on the site being updated. I'm jumping the gun a little on the registrations as I just saw the advertisment in Toyota Trails today. I presume it will be up and running on the 2nd of Jan. I'll keep everyone updated as I know more. I'm pretty sure I'll be leading a couple trails again and will try not to get turned arround in the hail on Poison Spider like I did last year. This is a great family event and I will be taking my kids out of school again this year to attend. I think 2011 will be the year the 100's out number the 40's.

2100 miles is quite a haul, drive safe, I'll have a cold beer waiting for you.

Oh man, I'd be there... but baby due that weekend. You don't think :princess: would notice me gone do you? After all, I already did the hard work.

I went last year. New York and all. Just do it.

I'll have to see about it this year, dont know.

3rd Cruiser, I just skipped the week for Cruise Moab '10...even told the professors

I've been waiting for this post to come around. I was all set to go last year but my wife was pregers and it wasn't in the cards. Now The girls will be 9 months old. They have already been to Moab 2x. I can't pass this event up seeing that Moab is only an hour and a half away Here would be my votes for trails.

Fins & Things
Hell's Revenge
Porcupine Rim
Elephant Hill
Gold Bar Rim
White Rim (Overnight)

I'd be up to anything though.

Ahh, I would LOVE to go to this, as I really wanted to last year but was made to go to my brother-in-law's wedding in Napa instead. But alas it is not to be. We will be taking the kids to Hawaii for our last (and only) big vacation this year, so all fundage this year is going to that trip. Will be thinking of you guys, as I sit on the beach sipping Mai Tais.

Should be there again this year. I would like to run something with the 100's.

Base camp/HQ is Slickrock again.. the 80 series in the dominant vehicle at CM so it's going to take everyone's involvement to tip that scale!

I'd sure love to be there but I'm entering that 'find a job/occupation' mode, after being off in play mode for almost 2-years, this year...so not able to plan anything right now. Darn it anyway!

I'll just have to live remotely and vicariously through all of you!

What happened to BFE?

Nothing, it's still there... get out there and wheel and camp any time, just toss a buck in the jar :D

Ok I know what you were asking- my take was the overall effort involved with running it out there was just too much- way more expense involved with infrastructure, way more work for the volunteers.. so that necessitated raising fees and increasing participants, resulting in even more work, more volunteers, more trial leaders, etc. To pull off an event like that you almost have to hire a staff.. they received a couple sizable donations towards 2010 which allowed the event to come out alright in the end financially, but that can't be counted on to continue every year. So for 2011 the new CM team decided to return to the more predictable and manageable venue of Slickrock. Last year's weather contributed a little too, that wind was downright brutal up there.

We loved it out there tough, was my family's favorite CM ever, and it's possible the event could even go back there, but not in 2011. I've had a lot of fun at Slickrock too in the past, for me it's about all wheeling together in Moab at a TLCA event, that's really all that matters. It's one thing when you're going camping & wheeling with a few buddies you can handle just about anything, but another thing when you're trying to secure a positive experience for 500+ people... So while a little sad to hear we're going back to town I completely understand, and I wouldn't be surprised if a smaller contingency of CM participants decide to go back and camp at BFE anyway primitive style... it's certainly an alternative camping option, and actually convenient if you're running E-Hill and BTR!
