For all of those that have attended the past events, I want to run some questions past you. Since the trails we'll run seem to be mild, I want to run my RTT/ARB awning setup. I do want to tackle the harder trails and will leave the setup at home if that means I risk being too top heavy or damaging the setup.

As of right now, most PM work is done on my truck but I'll be carrying a few spare parts such as an extra axle and starter along with fuel lines and heater hoses.

Anything else I should keep in mind for this trip?

Im also going as far as spares ill be taking an ignition coil, spare axle, tools and a serpentine belt.

I too am wondering about a RTT, may go this option if other think its a good idea.

A Roof Top Tent is a fine addition to your 100 for this event. We actually spend a lot of time ABOVE tree line, so you don't need to worry about damage from hanging branches. As far as being top heavy, there are no worries.

Whatever you normally carry for spare parts is appropriate. We actually did an axle swap in camp last year. With so many of the same vehicle in attendance, there is a lot of knowledge to be shared. We may do a front diff isolation demonstration for those who haven't either already upgraded, or haven't blown theirs yet. IMO, that's one of the most important things for 100 Series owners to know before going anywhere remote.

@paflytyer

Thanks for the response. I'm gonna toss around the idea of towing an offroad trailer behind me also (that is if @richxd87 will allow it). The trailer is in very good shape but it's only downside is that it has a standard ball type receiver instead of a pintle/lunnette ring hook. Not sure if articulation is a huge concern for the trailer but I imagine that we'll be setup at camp and the trailer can stay while we hit the trails.

My BIOR rear bumper should be done by Mike pretty soon and shipped in time for the event. I made a lot of modifications including expanding the jerry can holder to hold 3 instead of 2. I will also have to get my camping lights in order since I like to have a lot of light at camp to cook/clean/setup.

@duggy, make sure to post some pics of your jerry can holder. Now that we are confirmed for the event, I'm going to figure out what exactly I want to have Mike build for me. I bought my bumper w/ 2 swing arms last year but held off on the jerry can/ladder waiting to figure out what would work best. I would really love something that I could mount my TRED/maxtraxx to and hold one or two jerry cans. We just use the jerry can for water storage.

Also the trailer would work great. It can stay at camp while you run all the trails.

You're gonna love that bumper! I mounted a 9-light LED from National Luna on the liftgate and it does a great job illuminating the back area. With the drawer system in place my wife prefer to cook back there now and this works great.

.

All trailers will need to be left in camp as the trails we run are not trailer friendly. Some of the switchbacks are so tight that it takes 4 and 5 point turns with just the vehicle.

@fireball Would mounting the maxtraxx to the tire not work? I can't imagine having to take them off everytime I would need to use water/fuel up.

As requested, here is the basket Mike made for me. It's dual purpose to carry a cube cooler also.

Problem with maxtraxx on the tire is that it would then be behind the trasharoo.... Thought was to put it on the DS swingout closest to the liftgate. So that the jerry can would be accessible all the time, and need to swing out the arm to pull out the maxtraxx.

Anyone have a tent fan they really like? We have a Coleman 6 man tent. Shockingly nice considering the cheap price. Would be nice to get some air moving in it for our summer adventures. Can be 12v or also have an inverter if that's a better option.

In more exciting news, buying an ARB63 this week. I calculated how much we'll save by not buying ice and I think it might pay for the shipping! :)
Thanks!

Thanks!

You are going to love the arb fridge. Probally best investment in camping gear I've made. Nothing like pulling out frozen ice cream in the middle of a camping trip.

I guess ill contribute to the tech thread with my prep as well.

Got the windows tinted earlier this week, started setting up my valve for the shower so i can switch from heated (front shower) circuit to the "kitchen sink" (rear) circuit.

Installed my new gps/head unit last weekend
got my hi lift in

still need to do front brakes/rotors
tranny flush
find some extra padding/memory foam for the RTT

Front locker being installed tomorrow at ACC Toyota. Ordered my fridge from slee today. Going to have to let the bank account recuperate before we leave in a month!

Man! I wish I had signed up earlier for this, It sounds like a great time and all the chatter on here is making me antsy. Ill be on my game next year and sign up early. I live on the front range so I should make this trip every year!
