Looks great, do you use the back seat often ? Setting them aside and taking advantage of the extra space down there is awesome especially if your going to use the top up for sleeping and need space for gear

The seat pop out really easily but then you'd need to rig up some support up front for your platform.
I thought about removing the back seat but it's just not practical for me, I use them a lot and would have to reinstall them frequently. But maybe in the future.

Put together a platform this weekend using 2 x 12’s and 3/4” plywood. I still need to make the wing on the passenger side. I think I’m going to use adhesive and stick this anti fatigue diamond plate matt to it. Will probably paint the wood as well. So far so good. My only complaint would be the weight of the 2 x 12’s. This platform allows me to stow all the “stuff” that I normally always carry, and have a separate platform above that for other stuff. I feel like that is the best utility of a platform like this in a relatively tall cargo space. It allows for organization rather than just piling everything on top of everything else. I don’t know if I’ll sleep on it as we are a family of 3 and it might be a little tight.

I built this with 3/4" plywood, a 6' piano hinge cut in half, d-rings, and indoor/outdoor carpet, all from Home Depot. The aluminum angle was from another project, also from HD. And the adjustable legs and turnbuckles were from Amazon. I use an Exped Megamat Max and a full sized pillow, and it works perfectly.

sweet, heat shields on the windows for the win. Looks so much more spacious when setup just for one. Gotta divorce my wife, need more legroom

What type of fan are you working with? I tend to buy and break a s***ty little Amazon fan every year. I can't seem to find any quality options. The job site fans like DeWalt or whatever are too beefy. I just want a decent little rechargeable unit where the charger port doesn't crap out after a few uses

Yes, I like the Heatshields. It was $250 for the whole set, but they fit well, and are well made. I got gold instead of silver, because only gold was available with a black inner surface, but now that I have them, I think the gold goes nicely with the old man tan on the LX. I got the fan from Walmart. So far, so issues. It's 3-speed, USB-C rechargeable, quiet, and flows a good amount of air. A pair, for you and the wife, would set you back about $35.
