100 series prices going up.

i'm back in the market for a hundy after wrecking my pristine '04 lx back in february. i bought that one last august for about $16500. it was perfect, one owner, awesome service history, immaculate in every way and had about 165k on it when i bought it in atlanta.

i'm looking for something similar now and i can't believe the prices out there. i'm seeing 06 and 07 models with moderate mileage priced in the mid 20's. some even higher than 08 200's. even the higher mileage 04's and 05's seem to be priced closer to 18 or 19k for basically exactly what i bought last year at $16.5k. all this is making the loss of my lx hurt that much worse.

has anyone else noticed this trend of prices for 100's going up, or is this just a blip in the market? i know current prices have a lot to do with supply and demand, but i seems like if you ever want to get a clean 100 now is the time. they will get harder and harder to come by and the prices may just go up and up, sort of like what's happened to the 80 series market as most of them have aged and rusted at this point. super clean ones are going for crazy prices.

I'm wondering how many are going to be gone after harvey, and IRMA. That only makes it worse for such small unit sales #s
I say find a decent one under 20 and take it. My # was 20 a year ago, still hard to find at that time.
I'd look for a messed up AHC lx, those are going to tank, albeit not as steep a curve as a ABC mercedes. But could net someone a very decent discount with the right seller.
Sheesh, think of all the flooded BS in houston TX now.

^^^^^ A valid point. There are/were a LOT of Land Cruisers and LX's in the Houston area. Judging from the news footage I saw...a bunch of vehicles (of all types) were badly flood damaged. I wouldn't look to that market for a used vehicle for a couple of years.
