Just a single O2 on the trip out. I thought about doing that...but I'm not a car guy at all. This is the first non-truck I've ever had.

I went back and forth on what to do a bunch of times. Kept throwing codes for a month on the OEM stuff, saying clogged cats. Had it checked at two dealerships. Both said it was rare, but both recommended replacing with OEM stuff. $2000 installed.

SO I ordered EMS midpipes. Worked fine for a month or two AND performance was greatly improved. But went back to throwing O2 and clogged codes once or twice a month now.

Baktash suggested on the phone that the truck was probably running too rich, and he's right, the exhaust does smell WAY too rich. I've changed out the rear O2 sensors...is there anything else (other than changing the front sensors) that i could check about the richness?

And if i sell...I'm getting an 04-05, so the rack gets moved over
what exact codes are you throwing?

P0430 is the cat code

I think 0560 is the O2 sensor, can't be sure anymore.

Gonna try cleaning the MAF this weekend, resetting ECU, etc.

I wonder if it is something with quality control in 06. Mine had several things abnormal go wrong. I'm miss having a 100 but glad that one is gone.

I'm starting to feel the same way. Nick is checking out an 04 in Atl tomorrow for me. Hoping he gives it the thumbs up.

Officially broken in.

IIRC, '04 was the last year the LC was built at ARACO. I haven't heard about any real reliability issues with the 05-07s, but maybe that's what's up with yours........either way, you and Nolen may have the correct solution in mind

I had a 99 for a year. I do a lot of highway driving, just prefer the 5sp
I agree. My LX is a 5sp and my LC is a 4sp. Mileage is about the same, but the power delivery (overall driveability) is much better with the 5sp. Granted, there are a lot of other differences in the overall setup between the two, but the 5sp just feels better.

^ This.

Running 295's I can tell you there is not enough "pep" left in it to feel it.

If I lived out west and pulled big mtn passes regularly a regrear would be needed

Yup, I live out west, run 295/70-18 and a re-gear is needed. I ordered my rear third with 4.88's and an ARB. I need to order the matching front third next.

The 295's are awesome though. I think it's the perfect size if you want to go "big" on a 100.

They are as big as many 35's but not as big as some. The more narrow aspect makes them track nicely.
