Easy process. Suction old fluid out of res then refill with now Dot3. Bleed each wheel till you get good clean fluid. That's all there is to it. I doubt you would have any problems if you didn't but go for it if you want to. Main thing to remember on grades is to keep your foot off the brake as much as you can and let the gears do the work.

If it aint broke ...

If the brakes are working fine leave em alone. I would hate to create an issue right before your trip.

Bleeding the proportioning valve can be headache producing. I believe it's still on the rear axle like an 80, but i could be wong.

I agree. You'll know when you get there if you have brake problems.

Use your gears, stay off your brakes, relax and enjoy. Texans do these trails in El Camino's. :D

Plus it looks to take about a gallon of fluid. I have never seen a reservoir that big. I dread the day of having to mess with them. I think I will just hook up to the brake machine here at the shop and pressure these bitches clean.

Good deal. Think I will just leave it alone.

Is the fluid condensation / age / altitude issue actually a valid concern?

Sent from my iPhone using IH8MUD, and hopefully approved by the NSA.

Only as it relates to beer.

Winning! ;)

Seriously, do you think there are any old cars in CO? It's worth doing when you change a master cylinder or something but I would not fool with it for the reasons stated.
