Update on the transmission.

Last Friday, I picked up 16 qts of the Toyota WS fluid from Gray Daniels. They gave me a great price after mentioning CLC and TLCA. I then headed down to 49 Tire and Chris hooked me up with a transmission flush. From the get go I could tell it shifted much smoother. I've been keeping the ECT Power button on because it seems to keep the shift points at more appropriate RPMs, especially with having the 305/65/18 NTGs.

I have had no problems since the flush a week ago. Hopefully it was just a greased up torque converter causing the shutter and the flush fixed It. The transmission shop was very against the flush because they thought there was no way it would fix the problem. Well hopefully spending $200 will save $3500.

Great news!!

Sweet!

Hmmm. Great news. I've had numerous commercial garages say no to flushes. Maybe it's a way for them to increase revenue.

My thought on flushes are they are a maintenance thing not a cure all. Andy was lucky. This proves if anything that fluids should be changed at the proper intervals and use the correct fluids.
I am so happy this worked for you Andy.

Mike, I had a employee that left me years ago and went to run a transmission shop in Hattiesburg. He told me a year later when he moved on to greener pastures that if everybody would flush or change their trans fluid at the right time he would out of business.
I am sure that any transmission shop would rather rebuild a trans than just flush it or change fluid.

I agree 100%....be on top of maintenance and it will last.

Anyone know the intervals for tranny fluid on the 100...off the top of your head?

80-100k under severe intervals, normal service intervals only says inspect...

We discussed how the club mostly runs OME lifts back when i was window shopping and thought i would share my experience with IM. I have only put 6k on the lift but really like the handling, stance, and dampening.

I originally did the iron man 2 in lift with foam cell shocks but the cvs had to be rebooted and after continued leaking I installed the slee dif drop kit. The boots are now good to go. Rob installed the lift buT it came with great directions and is pretty straight forward.

The iron man kit was cheaper by $400 dollars and I had excellent customer service when my original shipment arrived and I had a busted shock ( free upgrade to foam cells!).

I also used martins research and redid all bushings/ hardware on the front sway bars and saw dramatic improvements.

The truck corners better, has lost the body roll and feels very solid on Jackson roads while empty or while hauling the "beach configuration" for 2 kids and a wife for a week. My opinion is that the IM lift is an excellent fit for moderate wheeling and family duty. I can't speak for heavy use as my needs don't require heavy bumpers, recovery gear, or extreme harsh use.

The only complaint from my 5 foot 2 in wife is the height lifting the car seat in. The metal tech sliders are an excellent step/ slider combo and have saved one high center situation at a buddies farm and 2 known door dings in parking lots.

My TB was done at 112k and I will roll 207k this week so the TB will probably be next at about 135k.

Overall, can't say enough good things about iron man. Anyone is welcome to drive it for comparison. I think with time and good recommendations they offer great gear for the 100 platform.

Had 20 cubic yards of bagged dirt in it today and it felt HEAVY. It still took the speed bumps and was not bottoming out. After feeling that much weight I do think its a little stiff but it is new.

Impressive! How many trips did that take?

Funny.

Still, the problem is an interesting one. My immediate thought was he intended to say that he loaded the hundred with 20 cubic FEET of dirt. In that case the answer would be about 27 trips. But even that didn't sound right as 20 cubic feet of dirt would weigh roughly 1600 pounds. Perhaps Shush meant to say that he loaded the hundred with 20 standard home improvement store sacks of dirt @40 pounds each. In that case, the hundred's cargo area was filled with 800 pounds (still an impressive figure), and the answer would be around 54 trips.

Please clarify...and check my math.

Check your math? Fo Realz..... Thats like Spivey asking to check his spelling.

Shush is confused. Bet he counts his push ups wrong too.

The truck hit Georg's shop earlier this AM for the final pieces before we pick it up 4/17....these will be some of the longest days ahead waiting for the trip.

Yes I was confused......trying to deal with 2 kids and surf mud is beyond my ability. I was talking cubic yards for another bed we are building and typed it.

Very happy to provide comic relief though:doh:
A 100 full of these to the ceiling was heavy. Someone else can do the math if they want

Chris....I can do 238 push ups
