Got a weird 'knock' (for lack of a better term) going on in front drivers side wheel when i turn or when I'm going over bumps. Kind of a dull thud...

I can also feel it in the steering wheel, floor board, etc.

Everything looks fine, but will take the wheel off shortly and eyeball it.

My CVs have been leaking for a while, is this maybe a sign of failure? Or is this knock something else?

Sway bar end link?

More info. On the drive from my office to shop the knocking became more pronounced, almost a clicking. Happens regardless of steering, even when driving straight. Not continuous but anytime there is travel.

Got the wheel off, everything looks good to me...

Have somebody jump up and down on the slider and rock it up and down. Hold onto various components and the suspension cycles. That is how I found the sway bar link. It felt tight just by grabbing it.

Def hear it when working the suspension.

How big a deal is it to change this stuff out?

Honestly have never touched anything to do with the sway bars before.

Snug the bolts up and see if it fixes it. That's what I did. No more clunk. But I have sway bars anymore. Permanent fix to that clunk

Done, still have the noise. And I'm out of time to work on it.

Prob going into the shop tomorrow. Have to go out if town later this week.

anybody with a factory suspension that needs two rear shock lower bushings.....let me know. have 2 extras and my lift uses different gear.

Saint, I have always heard that the clicking noise associated with CV joint failure. Is there a change in frequency of noise as speed increases? Good luck.

No, it's the same tone and speed. I'm pretty sure after messing with it this afternoon it's a suspension component. Just gonna take it into the dealer tomorrow. And thanks.

Ha..it's a little of both actually! I really have no time to work on it after I was unable to fix it today. Plus, I am a little scared of working on my DD, which is pretty critical for me on a daily basis. I still have little to no idea about what I'm doing with the 100. The 40 is easy by comparison. Day and night difference.

Mystery solved. Had the dealer install new rotors a month or so ago. They found a clip on the hub or axle that hadn't been installed properly and had come loose. Replaced that, all good. $0.

good news Saint!
