Take it to JRob, scuff it up, prep it good, paint it to match bumpers using anything but bedliner. I think that's the winner.

If I can schedule some time in his garage...he is working SRobs 40 I thought? I need to paint bumpers too...they are all jacked up.

I used Hippo liner on my 80 when I removed the fender flares. It can be tinted to match you paint. It is not as thick as bed liner but it is very durable. Simple to apply. Tap off, scuff up. Roll on or brush on. I put about 5 coats on and it was about as thick as a piece of tape. Check your auto paint stores around town if interested.

Sounds like an expensive option....im trying to be as cheap as possible......

we need some good 100 projects if our biggest discussion is my paint and suspension we have issues. Lenny .....buy a 100 and start cuttin and fabbin!!

I think it was 90 bucks for a qrt. Plus some throw away paint brushes and a mini roller. It would have been enough to do the lower section of my 80 but I never got around to do it all.

Bomar that is some funny stuff!

^cool, thanks south. when I get time (ie am REALLY sick of looking at it all messed up) ill look into it.

What did you say?......David is funding new bumpers....ok

Got sick of seeing my lift on the garage floor. Working the next 14 days and couldn't stand it....enter Rob

No more body sway in turns, good dampening on holes, no dive when breaking....its a new truck. I had no idea how worn out that 200k suspension was

Damn. That's a great deal as long as it's not rusted out on the bottom. Also, just for peace of mind I'd have the transmission checked since its a 2000 with only 113,000 miles. Most of the 2000's with that issue hit around that point.
What type of transmission check do you mean?

Certain production dates on the 2000 year model have had an abnormally high amount of transmission failures. Don't know the exact details, but have come across a lot of threads on this in the main 100 section.

EDIT: If you mean what kind of check can you do to see if the tranny is good...I obviously have no idea.

From threads I've read about it, you can check the fluid for metal shavings and there seems to be some issues that pop up turning overdrive on and off that are a precursor to the tranny failure. I think I remember reading a lot of typical warning signs that come before it bites it.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of those threads too, but the thread that seems to have the most comprehensive, logical approach to the "likelihood" of having a transmission failure (to wit: https://forum.ih8mud.com/100-series-cruisers/501772-2000-trans-status-2011-update.html) states that 65% of the known (on MUD) failures have occurred in model year 2000. The other 45% of failures have occurred in MY's 1999, 2001, and 2002. Basically, there appears to be about a 3.7% chance of a failure in a 2000, while the other years are lower than that...........and, virtually all occur without warning (sound of knocking on wood for me, smm3, papalud, and euclid)

Looks good. Mine rode much better after the lift as well but it could have ridden just as well with new OEM shocks and springs...I just didn't go that route.
