Parking outside all day at UMC in the ridiculous heat. To me, it helps make it less of an oven in the car.

Better to spend that money on tint..with the tint technology I can block 80+ of heat and not be ganster black windows. I like my ganster black windows though....not peaking in to see my crap in the truck.

Does anybody have window vent visors for your 100? I am thinking about getting a set of weathertech brand but wanted to make sure there wasn't a better option.

Since you have the 06, your tint would be different than what we would get installed. I can see if they will still include you in a group buy. That is if they even let me do it.

Still working on that and so far, its just Greg and myself that are interested. I thought maybe DNP and Shush would be interested since they both have trucks that are 03 or older. 03 is when they stopped with the Bronze tint in the factory glass.

I'm interested in tint. I have a 98 100 that I'm gradually updating.

Matt

Okay Matt. I will add you to the list and let you know what I find out.

I have wanted to tint my front windows on the 100 since I bought it. I haven't pulled the trigger because there hasn't been a close enough match...until now in my opinion. The problem lies in the bronze that is added from the factory that is in the window.

The thread I am attaching shows Viper Ceramic tint in 30% applied which is legal in MS.

There is a place called Cs Soundoff in Byram that carries the Viper Ceramic brand. Ceramic tint is more expensive than the usual stuff. I was quoted 140.00 to do both windows.

I wanted to see if anyone with a 98-02 LC would be interested in a group buy. I thought I would check here first to see if there was any interest before contacting them. I do plan on getting the tint, just thought everyone on here might be interested as well.....

Okay I spoke with the manager at Cs Soundoff. He said he would be willing to give us a discount. Its based on total price though. Tint is considered labor so their system has set discounts based on the total ticket. The first discount is 500. We would need 4 getting the ceramic to get the discount. 3 currently interested.

We would all be placed on 1 ticket, but we can pay separately. They don't all have to be done the same day.

Right now I have:
Euclid

Me

Possible?
Andy?
DNP?
Shush?

Andy,

If you decided to go the tint route, would you just tint the front 2 windows? Does the rest of the truck have tint from the factory? I haven't seen it in person to know...sorry

You would not need the Ceramic so your price would be different. Ceramic is much more expensive than regular tint. I could find out for you if you want.

I'm not interested in tint. Thanks for the offer.

Great thread. I wonder if the 100 Atrac and FJCruiser Atrac work the same.

same principle. But the GenII ATRAC is so much smoother than the GenI. Been in both in pretty crazy situations. To me, the GenII picks up faster than the GenI and does a little bit better job. That said, The GenI is awesome in the hunnerd series.
I suppose i should go read that thread, it's prolly saying similiar huh? Or am i totally off?!

The thread didn't address that question, but it does do a very thourough job of explaining and illustrating how to use Atrac.

I would just need the front two. If you could find out a price that would be great. So do you think tinting the front would help as much as the window vent visors?

my .02 cents....it stops some heat but with windows tinted (and up) its still cooking in this heat.

Window vent visors allow circulation and while still hot I would put money on it being 3-5 degrees cooler than if windows are up and tinted.

screw wind noise, that's why windows are down or you have a good stereo.

Crack em. Worried about a little water getting in?

How is it an either-or discussion?

Tint, pop up sun shield in the front and cracked windows. I regularly leave my sunroof tilted when the probability of rain is low. I think that helps a lot since heat rises.

Window deals are so it won't get soaked. Andy goes in a big building. There is no running out to put the windows up when the rain hits.

Open sunroof is best but not option for most.

Yeah I will be happy to find out how much it costs. The tint will help with the heat but as others have said, not as much as cracking the windows. The tint is functional but it's also for looks.
