Tool needed for install in MS in July....spatula... To peel Andy and me off the drive way. It was 90 at 0730. Ridiculous.

Looks good! I helped a friend work on his car over the weekend and it was miserable....and we were in a garage with several fans!

Ill wrench outside....after 2000 and before 0800. Its SO hot. I Put a new wind screen on my rear window and was dripping.

possible Front window tint group buy??

I have wanted to tint my front windows on the 100 since I bought it. I haven't pulled the trigger because there hasn't been a close enough match...until now in my opinion. The problem lies in the bronze that is added from the factory that is in the window.

The thread I am attaching shows Viper Ceramic tint in 30% applied which is legal in MS.

https://forum.ih8mud.com/100-series-cruisers/592149-redid-my-tint-found-very-close-match.html

There is a place called Cs Soundoff in Byram that carries the Viper Ceramic brand. Ceramic tint is more expensive than the usual stuff. I was quoted 140.00 to do both windows.

I wanted to see if anyone with a 98-02 LC would be interested in a group buy. I thought I would check here first to see if there was any interest before contacting them. I do plan on getting the tint, just thought everyone on here might be interested as well.....

I'd be in for that if it looks pretty close to stock. I have done zero looking on this issue bc I heard from others that there wasn't a solution. Do the pics in the thread you linked look good-to-go to you? I think I can still see a difference but I'm wondering if its because I haven't looked much.

The tint looks closer than anything I have seen yet. The first picture in the thread shows Llumar 35% bronze and it doesn't match at all. The second picture has the Viper Ceramic 30% and it matches almost perfectly. I have checked out all the tint threads and been following them all along and this one is by far the best match I have found.

The answer to your question would be yes....

What's the objective? Privacy? Heat gain? Both?

For me the main objective is heat. Privacy is just an added bonus.

Make sure they test keyless and gps and other items you have in the car. I have to use a specialized tint at the dealership not to interfere or limit the range of remote start and keyless and gps.

That's where I've always been a bit suspect of tint. It seems to me the darker an object, the more heat it absorbs (more heat gain). Now, reflective I understand. I just never have understood the folks years ago that tinted their windows black to make it cooler. Less light gets in, but the windows should heat up / radiate enough heat to offset that.

Maybe my theory is all wrong.......

Looks like Jrob was there...

Not sure about all of that. This is a bronze tint so maybe the reflective properties keep the window from heating up too much. we are only talking about the front two windows. The rest of the windows on the car are tinted....Do you think they get hot?

Thanks for that suggestion. I will be sure to ask. I have an aftermarket GPS and the antennae is mounted to the roof.

In for tent for the reason of because I like how it looks.

Does anybody have window vent visors for your 100? I am thinking about getting a set of weathertech brand but wanted to make sure there wasn't a better option.

Why? I had them to smoke cigars while raining but why would you.

Parking outside all day at UMC in the ridiculous heat. To me, it helps make it less of an oven in the car.

I've had them on all my vehicles prior to my 100s. It does help with the heat to be able to vent your windows.

My 99 had them when I bought it. Wind noise was terrible. They were the 1st things I took off. No idea if it was the brand, improper install, or maybe just how they sound on a 100. Was very loud though...
