I'll be going, haven't registered yet though, still trying to decide what I trails I am going to run. Thinking of doing elephant hill on Saturday, it'll cut an hour off my trip home.

Elephant Hill is a long day. Last time I did it we weren't off the trail until sunset.

 We are going to need sunglasses.

They are crazy bright! I didn't do it for the group night run, I may do a night run up Onion Creek one evening.

I put D2 dually driving lights on the Iron Man bumper in the factory holes. These are controlled by a Slee OEM switch. I also put a set of Dually Spots up on the Gamiviti Expo rack, these are on a separate Slee OEM switch.

If you need a little help with your tan this time of year, I will turn both sets on. :p

Now I need to figure out where to mount the cheap LED's that I had picked up for camp lighting, so that they can be used for rock lights. On a group run, I'd think the rock lights would help the most.

Where does anybody who has them installed, put their rock lights?

When I did this on the 80, my favorite places ended up being inside the bumpers, at the corners. Then aim the light down at the tires more or less, so they light up the ground and axles. That helped with spotting in front, and helped someone behind me see the line...

What it also did was create a huge shadow in the center of the truck, but I sold the 80 before I got around to mounting more lights in the middle. The spot there would be a slider cross member, again up high enough so it never could get hit, aimed more or less at the tires.

The worst place I mounted lights was closer to the tires themselves, and anywhere they could get hit with road grime. I put some stick-ons under the sliders once even, which looked cool until it snowed, and then it all came crashing down when I was kicking ice chunks off.

Signed up. I'll probably arrive on Wednesday night.

Signed up for:

THURSDAY- HELL'S REVENGE 6 (Lead by Slee)
FRIDAY - POSION SPIDER 5 (IH8MUD RUN)
SATURDAY - CLIFF HANGER 6

That might be a little ambitious. So my second choices were 4 and 5 trails.

This is what was left for Thursday:

What kind of spares are people bringing to CM? I was debating picking up my 180k service parts early as well as a CV and hoses.

I am bringing starter contacts and plunger, a couple of new denso coils and the ignition bracket assembly with rod.

I am debating putting new cv's in while the truck is apart installing the diffs. If I put new cv's in I will also get new drive flanges and have the old ones machined out. I also am changing the radiator prior to the trip. All of my hoses and t's were done with my 100k pm.

I should mention I'm going to some remote places for 5 days leading up to Cruise Moab. I'm sure you don't need a ton of spares at the event.

I'm bringing a spare starter, spare hose clamps, radiator cap, coil packs, oil, coolant, ATF. I already changed the T-connectors and ignition rod. My entire front end is pretty much new. So I'm not worried about tie rods and ball joints.

Does anyone buy aftermarket CVs and install them while they rebuild the OEM ones? Still cheaper than buying one OEM CV.

will move this to Events soon for exposure and for consistency. Check there if you don't see this one anymore.

So I ended up calling Cruiser Dan and ordered the cv shafts, oil cooler coolant hoses a few other odds and ends. I will wrap the better of my two old shafts and stash it in the outback drawer for emergencies. Might as well put the new shafts in along with the new diffs. This is going to set me back a bit in terms of getting the truck back and finishing a few odds and end that I wanted to wrap up before the trip, but should be worth it in the end both for piece of mind and the fact that the truck is already all apart for the diff install so there will be no additional labor to install the shafts.
