100 Series Antenna/Flag Mount Group Buy

Greetings Shane!

Please put me down for one driver's side and one passenger's side in black powdercoat.

Best regards,
Bill

that doesnt even make sense.

Actually, it makes perfect sense. You wouldn't put chrome smittybilt nerf bars on your truck because you want something made out of quality materials, and designed for your intended use. Shane has designed this piece to last a long time, and to have the proper fit/finish.

Oh so he was saying my custom stainless steel mount was made out of poor materials, wasn't designed for my intended use and hasn't lasted 4 years and still looks brand new? I asked a question regarding the design, why does it need so many bends and the support? Is that not something one would ask if they were thinking of buying one for their other truck?

You may.

May I ask why you didn't get the chrome Smittybilt neft bars?

Really? Seemed like a legitimate question to ask. :meh:
I also have a SS one thats taken a lot of abuse. I do like your mount, and if I didn't already have one I'd jump on board. Then again, I use a small HAM antenna with a NMO mount, so I don't need something that will hold a 10ft truckers CB antenna. :grinpimp:

Shane, this thread was started back on 9/22. It's 11/6 and still no ETA on the mounts? In the future, you may want to hold off on announcing new products until you have a solid production run date. I'm just saying.. it kind of tarnishes the image of your quality products!

You got all that from my post? Wow, you're sensitive.

I said nothing about your antenna mount - I've never seen it.

The point I was trying to make is that he is obviously using quality materials and designed it so that it fit close to the body without interrupting the use of the lift gate.

If you don't like his product don't buy it and if your mount is so awesome why are you worried about the number of bends it has?

Ok so I'm pretty new around here but in looking at your post one thing came to mind. How does the delay on delivery in any way tarnish the quality of his products? If anything wouldn't it have an impact on the level of service? Also, in reading this whole thread (prior to ordering) I 'm pretty sure there have been updates along the way to keep everyone up to speed on delay's.

God damn, lighten up fellas:rolleyes:

Loud,

That's a nice mount, simple. I like it except for the fact of having to drill 4 holes in the sill.:meh:

Shane,

I modified my original post to get one of each side in black.

Shane makes good stuff. I'm just saying that delays hurt customer service, which can spill over to hurt future business.

I'm sure the wait will be well worth it.

May I ask why these have so many bends and material?

From the pics it seems, that all the bends create a nice clean finished looking piece.

Like your sliders , as well as your antenna mount.

Perhaps it could have been made with less bends, to keep production costs down. But for most of us, if cost was an issue we would either do without, or make one ourselves.

I do find the "you may " response a bit awkward, not to mention humorous.

I should know tomorrow afternoon when they will be in my hand.

I'm having the fabricator do the TIG welding as I want a sexy weld if its going to the user naked. Usually I do the final inspection and sanding prior to powder, however I don't want to sand this edge.

Please verify the first post and I have the correct side and finish posted.

Anyone outside of the US?

Thanks for your patience on this group buy.

As far as the bends.

1st takes it from the mounting face angled to the jamb

2nd takes it from there out and parallels the jamb.

3rd bend takes it 90* away from the deck lid.

4th bend brings it away from the body and makes the mounting face.

5th bend is 90* inward creating the box, this has my logo and is welded to the 4th.

Why?

1. I wanted the tightest fit into the jamb as possible, making sure it near impossible to hit the deck lid and damage the paint.

2. I wanted a boxed lower for strength

I'm a little OCD with a touch of being anal, most benefit from it. Also, I was a member here long before a was a vender.

Though these are not my hands doing the forming and welding, I hold those folks to the highest standards as I do with everything I bring to market as I leave very little for improvement.

After the group buy the rest will all be powder coated, so if you want another side to match, nows the time.
