New simple kit to extend your AC drip line below the frame to prevent rust near the passenger side sway bar bracket. A must for all 100-series owners.

It's been difficult trying to wiggle the plastic L into the ac drain. Any hints?

I put some Toyota coolant i had laying around on the end of the drain and on the L and it slipped right in. No issues here.

You can use anything for lube, this isn't a critical component that sees pressure or anything like that.

Windex will make it slippery and should help. I believe the drain tube is flanged where it goes directly to the bottom of the cooling unit case, so you should be able to apply a good amount of force without anything happening. Flexing the elbow up, down, side to side, as your forcing it in also helps a lot. The drain tube is right next to a heat shield. It may be easier to push the elbow in when its pointed away from the shield and just straighten it once its fully pushed in. I have noticed after installing these, some go in easier than others, but they've always gone in.

Figured for 10 bucks can't hurt, got mine ordered. I noticed you mentioned this won't work for downward facing drains, mine seems straight out...... sorta. We'll see, hopefully it fits.
