Interior trim and leather. Seats can't be folded/stowed - 2nd or 3rd row - just too much noise. There are a few annoying trim rattles/squeaks, e.g. driver's door handle/pull, dash, etc. I can live with it... the stereo's pretty loud.

Same experiences as above. Lots of squeaks off road on especially the door panels. Dash is pretty tight, I don't notice squeaky in the seats. No exterior rattles except where some aftermarket part occasionally hits the body. I'm tempted to go through and dynamat or in some other way insulate things to hopefully eliminate some I the squeaks.

Is it the car what squeaks or the passenger?

Our 2000 LX with 160K miles on has no squeaks, zero. This thing continues to amaze me as it ages. At 85K miles, my jeep was leaking oil at almost ever seal. The 4.7 is bone dry and looks brand new from the outside.

I had someone fall asleep in my back seat riding trails last summer so I'd say it's pretty comfortable offroad... My 100 seems alot nicer to ride in than any of the Jeeps I've been in... While the Jeeps are very capable if you ride in something like a XJ Cherokee with the Unibody design suspension energy is dissipated and unloaded throughout the body and it sometimes sounds like they are ripping apart... My 100 and another FJ my friend owns seems to be the quitest and nicest riding offroad but not the most capable of the rigs I wheel with...

Almost broke my neck driving a tiny dirt road between Ace hardware and the tire shop the other day in a '97 Ford F250. Took the same road in my parents' 100 and didn't feel a thing.

Even the 80-series, which are solid axles all around, are considerably more comfortable off road than anything else I've ever been in. Must be the huge long control arms.

I can tell you this. Wherever I am wheeling, whoever I am with, and whatever is on the trail. I always have to wait for others to catch up. I find the 100 extremely comfortable, even flying through the woods with 4 wheels leaving the ground, my passengers think I am crazy that I drive that fast. If you air down to 18PSI you can really scoot on some trails. I'm not implying I am rally racing on FS roads, but it's fun to bomb through the woods in the 100. I'm not suggesting you jump a vehicle with 7.5" of travel in the front either  , man it feels weird for a few seconds when everything is soaring through the air.

Just a recent comparison in Death Valley. I took my FJ62 and got the usual rough road beating in 400 miles of washboard. Had to keep the speed down etc.

Then Spressomon gave me a ride up to a different mine site, which included some high speed sections. The difference is impressive. I suppose Toyota learned something between 89 and 99. The 100 glides over bumps where the 62 bashes and lurches over bumps.

I think Spresso is over 150k and his ride is still tight and free of rattles and squeaks.

I was impressed, to say the least.

Important to note that Spresso's is nowhere near stock and probably takes the washboard much better than most other 100s out there. Still impressive though. During club runs I find myself waiting for people and when I ask if they are OK they nearly always say they are just driving slow because of the rough ride. Even with the squeaks and rattles it is a great riding vehicle.

Two car seats contribute to the rattling. It seems worse when they are empty. Could just be my aftermarket noisemakers drowning it all out.

The AHC makes it even better on wash boards. There is this "switch-off-wash-board" button, called "comfort".

My 2004 squeaks in the drivers door, and the H/L lever rattles. The 2000 was quieter.

I've driven several 80s which have for years criss-crossed the Golan heights, Sinai, and South Lebanon; and they were still without sqweaks and rattles after all those years and miles on rough roads, potholes, no roads, bomb craters and highways. First thing to show up would be the engine mounts, giving a bit more rumble under certain conditions.

I have a little rattle in the gear lever and something in the rear. Maybe the spare wheel?

I've noticed that while my 100 seems to have it's fair share of squeaks and rattles, I think they are more noticeable because the interior is so well sound insulated. Most other vehicles have a much higher base noise to cover up rattles and squeaks. I also live waaayyyy down a dirt road so I get some washboards every day of the week a few times a day. :D

It's definitely still far and away quieter at 200k+ miles than most domestic SUV's I've been in at 100k miles.

My 2001 4Runner was tighter and much quieter than my 2004 LC. The 4Runner had seen a lot of time on the rocks and washboard roads and was always super quiet. The LC always seems to have some noise that will pop up after hitting a pot hole, washboard, etc. With that said I much prefer the LC...sold the 4Runner last month.

Quie as a mouse here. Except for temporary dash squeeking cold mornings.

I'm still trying to figure out what is causing the squeak by the glove box.
