Anyone have access to the parts manual for LX570 10's and 11's and able to see if Lexus changed the main bearings or any other internals between model years?

Just at the dealer and was told by a Lexus service manager that the reason the 11's have a longer oil service interval and use a different oil weight than 10's is that Lexus changed the LX570 engine bearings to allow use of the new "Lexus" synthetic oil.

I'm more than skeptical....

Not sceptical enough though to buy an '11 and then tear down both the engines to compare though.:) Am tempted to spend some time with the parts guy when I pick up the truck.

(For the record, under warranty I just follow the manufactures oil type and mileage service recommendations. They can be expensive, annoying and stupid, but if/when one needs to have an engine replaced under warranty, the paper trail is nice to have.)

Where did this service guy find this info?

Lexus.com has the LX570 for both 10/11 with the same intervals.

The 2010/2011 Lexus LX570 recommends the following oil.

“Toyota Genuine Motor Oil” is used in your Lexus vehicle. Use Lexus
approved “Toyota Genuine Motor Oil” or equivalent to satisfy the following
grade and viscosity.

Oil grade: ILSAC multigrade engine oil
Recommended viscosity: SAE 5W-20 or 0W-20
SAE 5W-20 or 0W-20 engine oil
may be used. However, SAE 0W-
20 is the best choice for good fuel
economy and good starting in cold
weather."

Lexus is the biggest rip off. Toyota Land Cruiser has the same brake fluid and batteries in the smart key yet only the Lexus LX570 requires replacing at regular intervals.
