-10 degerre starts, can't take foot off clutch in neutral for 2min!

I suspect a sticky TO bearing but I guess it could be the gear oil at -10 is too thick in the 4 speed. Anyway I can start the truck with the clutch in and the tranny in NEUTRAL, and when I let out the clutch it wants to die, let it run for a few, pull it forward and back a few feet and then I can let the clutch out with it in neutral and it wont kill it. Anyone else have this issue?

Not if one uses the correct synthetic lube for that temperature.
 
my truck has been acting the same, a week below -30 and moisture in the brake fluid frozen seizing front brakes. bleeding was all that was required. clutch did the same.
almost makes me feel like going to River Shiver

Run synthetic gear lube, world of difference even in 0-20 degree weather.

You may have some other issues though. Even with thick lube, or a sticky throwout, you should be able to let out the clutch. No different than a load on the engine when driving.

Do you have any water in the cases, could be freezing issues.

if you hold the clutch in for a few minutes, then move the truck back and forth alittle, this would not matter. Holding the clutch in, the trans input is not spinning, moving the truck forward and back alittle will barely move any gear oil around, not enough to "loosen" the oil up.

Back in the day when I ran my 40 around in -25F I would set the transfer in N and put the trans in first gear to get the oil moving around the spinning gears, it sure would help the shifting.

I have heard about this, and done it with my 40 when temps get below 0 here (not often)

Question, why not start it in N with clutch out?
 
In the cold, I had the same issue with my FJ45 and the Mini truck. I agree, this is a limitation of the dino transmission/gear oil.

I have noticed the same problem but it only happens to me below about -20F. (we just finished several weeks of -40F weather)... I wedge a stick between the seat and the pedal to keep the clutch down while it warms up for 5-10 minutes and then it takes some engine revving and clutch riding before it will continue running in neutral with the clutch up.

If it stays warm this weekend I'm planning to switch to synthetic gear oil.

Above -20, I can start it without pushing the clutch down at all. Strange that it happens at -10 for you and not till -20 for me?
