Well, This replaces the Nav display. I removed the CD changer and added a Ham Radio in the CD location. Our Rear unit only has AC. We have a stand alone iPad for the back on the seat headrest. We actually changed out the Tesla unit to a 9" Android.
The reason we changed it was the integrated AC system. We have a place in Tucson, AZ and drive this from our place in CA. I was worried about the AC controllers going through the desert. I have added some photos.View attachment 1970403View attachment 1970404
hey, have a link to the 9" android unit? Install looks great aside from the glare, how does fare on the CA->AZ roadtrips?

Ha, Yes, horrible photo. I really like the unit. We have Torque set up on it. Bluetooth music and phone are perfect. Maps are great, although most of the time we know the route. Back up camera works really well. However, We purchased a upper quality aftermarket camera and installed it on the rear spoiler. We are happy with the choice.

Nice! So you did the nav to non-nav swap? I'm accumulating the parts for that right now... Did you find it difficult?
Yes, We did the Nav to non nav swap. Fairly straight forward. one tip, use the sprinkler wire loom from HD. It has 8 color coded wires in a Romax housing. Makes the wiring run very easy. I also used heat shrimp marine connectors. It is very clean and easy to do this way.
To be honest, Adonis over on the GXOR site is the go to guy for these conversions. I can help you with questions though.

so i don't want to completely hijack this threas, BUT.... too funny, i've already exchanged a ton of message with adonis through FB (via GXOR). i've been piecing everything together for a little while (again with Adonis' help), and will probably dive into the install pretty soon. i was going to go pickup some 18/7 or 18/8 wire from home depot, and also some of the solder seal connectors!

also, what camera did you end up going with??? what was the process of tapping in the rear backup lights?

On the BUC we purchased, it has a "Hot" wire intergraded into the harness. You just need to tap a BUL on the camera end. Then the head unit end is "Hot" once the car is in Reverse. This way you are only running the harness to the head unit. Once the trip wire is connected to your head unit you are good.

Hello everyone,

Surin from Malaysia. Just installed a unit purchased from China. Installation was smooth with all the info available here. However the only hiccup I’ve had is that on blueetooth calls the caller / other party cannot hear me. I can hear them but they dont hear me at all.

ive tried with and without the external mic and there has been no difference.
Any ideas?

Maybe the mic that came with the head unit is defective. Are you sure it is "pushed" in all the way??

Yup i thought so too. In built mic nothing i can do to physically test. External mic connection, ive inserted the jack multiple times, it is the same, the other party cannot hear me.

bluetooth module works well, as other Bluetooth functions are not affected.

read online that many suffer from such software related issues where bluetooth does not allow the mic to pick up voice.

still contemplating to return the unit or keep it as a new replacement unit might still be having the same glitch.

Oh, got it. Is it possible that the sound is on Mute? Maybe in a setting or such?
I believe there is a Website for Phoenix. There was some "Questions and Answers". Maybe check there?

The seller eventually agreed to send me the mic chip for replacement. But i’ve instead decided to send it back for a full refund. So story of a superb display unit that modernised the interior outlook is finally over - at least for now.

thanks for the tips n ideas folks.

I don't know how to post up photos here anymore. I always get an error message. Too old to figure it out. If you are comfortable in giving me your email. I will show you what I did for a modern head unit.
