I can do up and down volume and skip a song. That is all I have tried so far.

Yes, My Back Up Camera works great. It is not factory, ours is a 2003
The factory camera is 6v. You can make them work.
Were you able to get the link to the APK pack they have for the unit? (it's for some specific apps to further customize the user interface) If you could PM me or post it here it would be great.

It almost seems worth it to just buy the parts and fit an old smartphone or some kind of screen in there. I paid an arm and a leg for the computer portion to get it to work but it was plug and play and I really do appreciate the functions of it on a daily basis.
You have to e-mail them and ask for the link to the APK pack for customizing the boot screen.
I did ask, They sent me the link for the Google Play Store. I will ask again.
Might need to be specific about wanting to download the APK for changing the boot screen.

FYI, swapping to the Lexus logo above is as simple as saving over the image file on the internal HD. Any png file in the right size will work. The boot screen (you could do animation as well) is more tricky, hence the APK required to make the correct changes.

I will try to get it for you. I am not very computer savvy. I was excited I could download something from the Google Play Store
The factory BUC is 6volt, not 12 volt. You can make it work. I believe someone here posted it up.
Mine does not have the LR issues.
They seem to have no idea there is one. I asked again, They responded that the background screen is already updated??
So Im wondering...is there anything extra that I need to purchase for the installation...I've read something about a can-bus? I know I will need the 6v to 12v step down harness to make the factory backup cam work....but will I need to purchase a Toyota/Lexus wiring harness?
I can only speak for my unit. It was truly "plug and play". When it arrived, about 3 weeks after I ordered it. The unit had everything with it.
I know people have had issues in the past, it would seem it has been resolved. I am glad we did the conversion.
