I only have my LX serviced at the dealer and I just have them do oil and filter at every 5k. At first they thought I was being overly cautious, but now that they know how I use my truck, they don't question it. They have a note in my file and just include it automatically.
The differing dealer advice is interesting. Many LX and LCs show 5k oil changes on the service history, and I'm betting that is at the strong advice of dealer service advisors.

I'm in the 7.5k or 1year camp. I use AMSOIL and their filter which they say is good for 15k or something, but 7.5 or 1yr seems to work for me. Oil doesn't look too bad so I can see 10k not causing you harm with a good filter.

This isn't directed at anyone in particular but short of visible water or chunks in it, how oil "looks" has zero bearing on how well it is working.

Take our super-expensive OEM trasnfer case oil. When brand new it is a very dark brown. Or almost any diesel engine immediately after an oil change.. the soot load in the pint of old oil that remained will make the brand new stuff appear straight black.

If anyone is worried about oil performance sending off a sample for analysis is the only way to judge the fluid itself.

Good oil maintenance is one of the easiest and cheapest way to ensure mechanical longevity. I use to do it on the dot at 5k. In recent times, I've been a bit lazier. Especially as the EVs in the stable don't demand anything and just...run. I'll still change at 5k but have known to drag it to 7.5k as the motor is just so easy on oil. Agreed with @bloc 's comments but I've never seen oil come out after its service interval looking visually as clean and still honey colored to a degree. Chalk it up to the low stress, low rpm, and relatively high volume oil motor. If I'm doing heavy towing in that interval, I'll keep it closer to 5k

This exactly. 2 gallons of oil is the same volume as in much larger engines. Plus a robust oil cooler.

So I bought my 2018 LC 1.5 years ago and had almost 10K on it at purchase with a fresh oil change.
dealership and and everything i read says 10K intervals.

Never in a million years would I take my LC or any other car to a dealership for routine maintenance

I did my first oil and filter change at 15K so 5000 miles and now am ready to do another.

Do any of you really follow the 10k interval My brain just says no to this but here are my thoughts and look for your input

1. Drain oil every 4-5K via Fumoto valve that I have and replace oil only then change filter on next one so basically change filter every 10 K and not fight the undercarriage protection i installed

2. Just suck it up and change oil and filter every 4-5K

Thanks all

I was the same way when I bought my LC200.

I change mine every 5k and the Mobil-1 Toyota oil is available mail order from walmart.com cheep.

After much research and considering I'm in the dirt weekly I derided on 5k, BUT best way it to send oil out and get tested to figure out "your" best interval. I didn't do that but that is the best way I think.

I use the Ez-valves (2) one on the drain and the other on the filter drain. and the joelie? oil filter holder. Couple ramps and it's really easy.

How did you mount your winch?

That looks nice.

Winch is mounted on the Trail Taylor hidden winch mount

I’m with you on the miles . I use the Trd filter on the lx .. they don’t make one for my rx. Using Mobil 1 full synthetic abt to switch to rotella suv/ truck full synthetic
