Any chance you have a garage with an I-beam in it? If so, the hoist is your friend. That being said, even with a hoist or a picker, another set of hands is VERY helpful in making sure the head sits properly on the dowels without moving the gasket.
FWIW, I tried using some cut rod as guides ... not enough clearance for the rod to protrude from the head and allow the head to come in flat, even with the hood off. Maybe if I would have flathead slotted them for removal and made them shorter, but I didn't do it that way.
I would NOT try to muscle this into position solo unless there were absolutely no other options.
I’ve installed/removed Both front/rear 3rd member from my chest, pulled the rear axle out to replace it with a locked one on a grade, And stopped a rolling car before it hit a bus full of nuns.....
