Update for my 200 friends and contributors:
The eagle has landed!
I worked out my little nits with sales. My wife was concerned about luggage space in the 570 when traveling w our family, so they made me a screaming deal on the floor model rocket box (won’t need to stay on at all time, traveling and ski season, but they installed and it’s on for right now). They could not work w me for tires. The tires are in very good shape, but they’re highway tires. I’m in the northern Rockies of Montana, I’ll need to do something before winter. I have seen loooooong threads in here about that, folks going to 18’s and 17’s, etc, I’m not up on that yet, but will research and ask advice from you all when appropriate. There is small, but noticeable if you look, crack in the wood on the dash, they’re interior guy will work on that for me on the 20th, on their dime. That same day, service will plug me in and see where I am on map updates. There is no sales tax in MT so I paid exactly what I told you, right at 37,5. Feels fair enough today, not a screaming deal, but fair for what it is, and what a ride. Again, thank you all so much for your assistance. The 40 has a sweet sibling :) time to read the manuals!!!!

A fine looking vehicle! Congrats and welcome to the family. The 200 forum is pretty amazing and there is no shortage of expertise, support, enthusiasm and opinions to draw on as you make it your own.

Given the mileage, you didn’t get hosed on the price.

Look hard. You will find several places where the wood trim is likely lifting. Around the ash tray, near the memory seat buttons, etc. Press on it all over to see if there are more places it is lifting. Check the radiator for a crack on the top at the square section. And scope under the intake manifold to see if there is a coolant buildup. These are very common issues for that age series.

Nice color choice!

Where in MT are you btw? Wife and I went on a road trip recently and stayed at Kalispell overnight. Growing town with friendly people and good food, and no blue ties. Got me thinking of wanting to move...

You said it Docboy and let’s help keep it that way. It’s a pretty special place. I’m in Bozeman. Holler when your about, I’ll have some good trails and fishing holes ready for ya :)

Congrats! You're going to love it! You'll find plenty of great build threads about different things you can do, but right now as you get settled and explore the vehicle there's a lot in the <$100 thread that tend to address many of the 'quirks'. Two quick and inexpensive things that will make a big difference:

Love it. Thank you for this. Wife already complained about the cup holders. I’ll do those and the lights immediately!

Congratulations!

It‘s great that she liked driving it and that they addressed her concerns about luggage capacity. So now you have a new addition to the family and a happy wife!

Really low miles for the age, great condition and insane market, it might not be the worst deal out there. Make them an offer and negotiate to a mutually agreeable price. If you're a cash buyer, guaranteed sale, that is more attractive to them than some rando that may or may not show up to buy it for that much over book value.

It may be different for the LX or your locale, but finding something like that near me would be a once in a decade event.

My experience with good used Land Cruisers is to have cash and move fast, because if you don't, someone else will.

All of the above I agree with. That is insanely low miles for an 08. But the price is a little steep. C.R.E.A.M. If your a cash buyer you could probably knock of 5k.

If clean with little rust that thing is almost new. A time capsule. So with the markets today there is a premium and the low miles... That's why they are asking that price. But if you have cash in hand and offer 5k less they probably will take your offer after a week if no one else bites. Give them your offer and phone number. If it's no one grabs it in 5 days they will call you back telling you how you are breaking there gonads. Some long story how they are not making money on this. The end of the day they want it off the lot as fast as they can with any profit. They always shoot high at first. They have plenty more cars on the lot to sell.

When I picked up my 09 LC I showed up with an envelope of cash short 2k of the asking price. It was a shady used car dealership. Most of the vehicles where under 2k and some where $500. So I was very surprised they had a LC on the lot and I knew right away they got this thing by luck and super cheap. Mind you I had been searching for almost a year and when this popped up I was the first to respond. Anyway I went down the next morning to look at it and was very impressed. So I just told him I'll take it. He brought me into the smoke filled office, offered me some cannabis <strange?>, and started working on the loan papers. Asked me how much I would like to deposit and I tossed him the envelope. That's my offer. No financing. Gave me the song and dance. I just said OK no worries. When I was taking the cash back from him after he handled it and was about to leave he just said fine. It's yours but you are killing me.

Humans looooove cash. And when they see it sitting in front of them and touch it most can't walk away. Totally different than a credit card or loan. It's a psychological thing. There was an article in the WSJ today about this sort of thing today. Cash is king.
