Just pulled the trigger on a 05 GX with 130k. Thanks for all the great info that abounds here. Bought it with the air suspension flat and a torn CV boot. Paint looks like death warmed over as well. But that 4.7 V8...just, WOW. First Toyota V8, appreciate the add!

Thanks JLee. I really wrestled with the purchase over the weekend. The paint looks that bad...the KDSS & non navigation were the deciding factors. I'm in it for $6k at this point so I dont think I could get hurt TOO bad.

Nice! Now take the $2-3k you would have spent in addition for a slightly nicer specimen and replace the suspension with coils, fix the cv boot and the rest to continue your build. Great find!

Also the 3rd seats are MIA, took a little value off, which was fine...I'd heard their only useable by small kids and we're through that phase. I'm hoping to fix the suspension for around $400 (PO put new shocks on) and the CV axles are less than $100. I would really like to have the air ride but it seems like that can get a bit spendy.

Are you sure you have a third row model? Some come without it (no third row AC, no seatbelts, no seat mounts on the sides).

According to Lexus owners site it has an entry under options that says "3rd row seat: Includes rear air conditioner " as a factory installed option. It was correct about the sport package so I'm assuming it's right. It has brackets on each side...but, this is my first GX SO...

If it has the brackets, it's a 3rd row model.

Seats should be easy to find if you want them.

Bought my 05 Sport w/o nav in June. Mine has a few more miles though. Love it so far. I highly recommend the rear door mod, the fan spray pattern washer nozzles and an adapter to use you phone to play music through the radio. Those 3 things have made a great vehicle better

Thanks scooter...you use the Grom? Is the audio quality pretty good? The back door mod is where you replace the OEM with a hydraulic strut? Hadn't heard about the fan spray nozzles...will have to research that. Thanks for the tips! Have you removed your stock running boards? If so, do you like the change?
I drove the GX home from the dealership yesterday, about a 2 hour drive....they will be prying this truck from my cold, dead hands

Yes on the strut. I will find the part number on the washers. I bought a used VAIS interface for less than 60.00. Eventually I will change to a modern head unit. It makes trips better with music on my phone or pandora. I still have the running boards. Sliders down the road.

I think the toyota part number for the washer nozzles are 85381-AE020. Double check to be sure.
