So the Wife backed the GX into another vehicle:mad:(how do you do with a backup camera???), and it cracked the bumper and put a dent in the metal under the tailight. Looking for a new bumper, but don't want to waste my money on a stock one, since I plan on lifting and modifying in the next few months. Anyone have a rear bumper for the GX, if so do you like and pics if possible. Thanks for your help....

There is no aftermarket rear bumper that will fit a GX properly. The 4 runner bumpers don't line up with your sheet metal and there isn't a GX specific bumper in the states or overseas that I have found.

You can go custom or wait for a few manufacturers to make a Prado 120 bumper. If you want, I can sell you my stock bumper components for 50% of new and I can start my build. :)

Thanks Dan. I sent an email to ACC to find out more about your lift and how difficult it is to install. I believe we met a couple of years ago @ GSMTR, but I think you had an 80 then that was rhino lined or something. Anyways, godd to see your doing well and I will be following your posts about the GX, as I plan on going a similar route. Down here we only wheel 2 or 3 times a year, so mostly for looks.:(

That was the Avocado, yep, we met!

The lift is tricky since the rear has absolutely no spring perches...but it obviously can be done!

I wasn't kidding about the rear bumper cover, let me know if you end up not building out and I can sell you my perfect factory cover!

Thanks Dan. I will definetly keep it in mind. Just got the quote from ACC bout the Ironman lift. Gonna PM you a couple of questions if you don't mind.

From my research you are likely going to have to go custom. The 120s have been out for quite a while and don't see many aftermarket options for bumpers. Plus shipping them stateside could be costly anyway.

Good luck and will be following your build.

I will say this...I wheeled mine and it never touched the rear bumper. The angles are perfect. Probably why there aren't a lot of options. I dropped off a 3 foot rock step and didn't touch.

yes, it will, but it is strictly expo style, not a clearance increasing solution (possibly the opposite).

My goal is to raise and tuck the rear end to get an even better angle.

Thanks Dan. If it does fit, I will probably go with it. I look forward to wheeling it sometimes, but definetly won't be as extreme as your doing:lol:(That's when I'll ride in a friends 40:cool:). BTW, when you went to Tellico, what trails did you do?

Tellico was before this truck...I had a few other trucks to take up there. I have seen every trail and driven all but 3.

Kaymar hasn't sent anything back yet. In looking at the photos of the rear bumper for the Prado 120, I see the rear feder flares are extended and the Kaymar logo is in the area where the stock bumper on the GX comes up. I need answers from these people:bang: about prices and fitment. Got any suggestions?

Yeah, I don't know the detail on fitment. It looked like it replaced the bumper cover for the rear quarters, but I don't know. Please let me know when you find out!

Confirmed the bumper and snorkel are on the boat, getting the winch on order too :)

You are well ahead of me..... If you don't already have a build thread, you need to start one. Once I get started, I plan on doing this to help others out. Especially listing part #'s, to save us all the headaches!!!

Yeah, they are...in my build thread. The rear bumper and side panel strip down/bed liner will happen before end of summer! :)

Oh gotcha! It is the rear bumper I'm particularly interested in.

Well, OK, it's your whole truck that persuaded me that a 4th Gen 4R wasn't the only option.

Thanks for your willingness to be a guinea pig. :)
