Swinging from a vine.
My buddy has an '04 gx with 38k or so on the clock. He pulled the battery to replace a bulb in the headlight. When he hooked the battery back up, the seat memory and the driver side controls for the non-driver door windows are not functional. The drivers window still goes down, but the others wont.

We've checked all the fuses and can't find any that are blown. Any ideas? Is this a common problem?

Window lockout button depressed? BTDT

As for the seat memory, have you tried reprogramming it following the steps in the owners manual? I would assume that disconnecting the battery would "empty" the programmed positions from the memory. I have no firsthand experience with those fancy seats, but they shouldn't be too hard to program.

No, first thing I checked. But, it would lock them from the other doors. The lockout button is functioning correctly. I *believe* the other windows should still be able to be controlled from the drivers side door with it depressed.

He tried to reprogram the seats. I'm not up on that space-age technology either. I'll make sure he followed the steps in the owners manual.

From a TSB:
Anytime the battery terminal has been disconnected or a low battery condition has
occurred, initialize each door’s power window after reconnecting the battery terminal
or correcting the low battery condition.

1. Push down and hold the driver’s door
power window switch to completely
open the window.
2. Pull and hold up the driver’s door
power window switch until the window
closes. Continue holding the switch
for approximately one second until the
switch changes from blinking to a
constant illumination.
3. Check for proper operation of the
“one–touch open and close” function
by fully pushing the switch to the

“DOWN” and “UP” positions.
4. Repeat the above procedure on each

door’s power window switch.

This may be the answer to your seat question:

5. INITIALIZATION CHECK (w/ MEMORY)
(a) When replacing the power seat switch (seat ECU), perform an initialization by moving the power seat
into the foremost and uppermost position.
(b) When replacing the D/C OUT fuse, perform an initialization by moving the power seat into the foremost

and uppermost position.

Thanks!

No dice, Don.

Still not working...

 That's strange. The automatic window trick has always worked for me. You have to go to the switches at each door, roll them partway down, then hold the switch in the "up" position until the light stops blinking. We had to do this to most of the new vehicles during the Pre-Delivery Service.

I've never had to do the seat thing before, but just make sure it's being done right. It doesn't say if the ignition needs to be on or off, but I'd try it both ways.

I'll try it for myself when I get the chance.

got the windows working with your suggestion... still dicking with the seat. Thanks again, Don!

EDIT: Seat memory is now working too. I'll make my buddy buy you some beer if you ever make it down to South MS.

I followed your directions and had no problems... not sure what was lost in the translation before I looked at it.

Cool! Glad it all worked out.

I haven't been to MS since I was kid, I'll look you up if I ever get down there again.
