I will be converting a 3-speed to a 4-speed, keeping the vacuum actuated 3-speed transfer case and under dash shift mechanism for hi/lo. It is my understanding that because the 4-speed is approximately 4-6" longer, I will need to extend the hi/lo shift linkage rod. I measured the diameter as...
My '67 FJ40 was swapped with a 4 speed transmission under prior ownership, and the linkage was modified and interferes with the transfer case itself, preventing me from shifting into 4 Lo (Hi & Neutral are fine, but can't get it to click that one last notch into Low!) Looking for a replacement...
Hi all,
Attached is a STL file for the hood rod prop clip. I printed and tested the clip in various orientations. In terms of strength, I had the best luck printing in the two orientations shown below. Pictured below was printed at 100% infill and .3mm extrusion "draft" settings. I plan on...
hey all,
been a long-time reader but just joined to share this and ask you all for your collective wisdom. I'll start by saying I'm not as knowledgeable about the ins-and-outs of cars and how they work as I'd like to, but I can pass muster to a good degree. That said, when things start going...
Any input or opinions on the best tie rod end kit. Any difference between say a OEM kit from Cruiser teq vs the heavy duty kit from Manafre? Appreciate the advice. Thanks
Just replaced the tie rods ends.
First, the part numbers below match with the dorman parts I found on rock auto. Total at the time of purchase was $64.
I did a terrible job measuring the tie rod lengths before removal. Also, had to clean up the threads on the rods quite a bit before...
Hi everyone, the ignition rod broke on my 1999 LX470 (electronic tilt). I've removed the broken piece, ordered the 7853B part from amazon, swapped that metal 'tongue' and 1 little spring, put it back together and this is how it works (see video).
- The wheel doesn't lock even without a key

I'd like to get these in fairly quickly. My normal sources are out of stock or double the price
- City Racer - out of town until 1/19 - $85
- Cruiser Corp - $77 but out of stock
- Cool Cruisers - in stock but $145
- Cruiser Teq - odd but doesnt have any FJ40 tie rod kits
- Amazon - $140

Gday, replacing my rod bearings on my 1HDFT. Pulled one out to double check markings, only has T7B 4 on it. Any idea if this is standard sized bearings? Seems the sump has never been off. Has 430,000km on it, bearings are pitted.
Wanted fj40 steering drag link and tie rod. I recently purchased a 73 fj40 (basket case) that is missing the steering linkage from the manual box to the axles. Any condition will do, rusted, bent or bad tie rod ends are ok. I just want to be able to steer this pile around while I’m pushing it...
Ever see this before? I’ve heard of bending the tie rod but not it breaking like this.
Looks like it napped right where the link ends. Thank goodness this happened when pulling into my garage but so bizarre.
Who makes the best replacement rod kit?
Might as well upgrade but I don’t need...
Radiator support rod. $15 plus shipping
Fuse block from a 78 fj40. Clean with no corosion but appears to have been sandblasted so plastic is not shiny. $10 plus shipping.
Checked the FSM and didn’t see a spec for this ? Both front and rear diffs got rebuilt completely and both lockers disengaged on startup. Front locks immediately but the rear hasn’t yet. I pulled the actuator and there’s gotta be a depth to set the rod for both locked and unlocked positions. I...
Looking for four jack rod clips as shown below (photo courtesy of wscbill, who I believe got the pic from treerootco). Will buy outright, but am also very open to trade tools or memorabilia (pictured under the clips are some things available for trade). If you have the clips and are willing to...
Good Morning All!
275K 2000 land cruiser. Just purchased recently, 2 inch lift. I have been adjusting the torsion bars in front to get the ride height correct, 21.5 inches hub to fender on passenger and 21.75 on drivers side (finally got it!). Also was able to successfully adjust the panhard...
