    oil pressure switch connected to distributor

    it appears on my 77 fj40 that the oil pressure switch under the oil filter is connected to my distrubutor to ground it out if oil pressure goes down.. is this normal?

    Cold start oil pressure and while driving

    Is my oil gauge normal on cold start? Also while driving it stays at the half mark till about 15-30mins of driving at settles right above the quarter mark. Is the oil too thick? Should I go with 0w-20?
