We have a 2023 lx600 fsport. Scoured the manual. Nothing useful found regarding initial oil change. We are sitting at around 5,500 miles. When is the initial oil change due?

Should be 10k. At 5k you normally have a tire rotation. Then at 10k is is oil change tire rotation.
But you can also change it as often as you want!
The dealership told me that the first oil service is at 16k km. I always change the oil at 8k regardless of the schedule.

I changed at 1k miles as I do with all new cars, and will change at 5k and then ever 5k thereafter. It's cheap insurance, and the main reason Lexus is suggesting such extremely long times between changes is to give the impression of low maintenance.
I changed at 5000, and do so every 5000miles. Dealer mechanics agree with me 
but the synthetic oil is always light in color even after 5000 miles, and I expect could easily go the extra all the way to 10k.
