title says it all. this fj80 has had an easy life on interstate as weekend warrior & grocery getter - 154K mi (sounds like an EBay ad)... everything works but A/C needs recharge. there is a dealer recall on this car to replace a valve in the A/C system that was not done by PO's and dealer is obliged to do it at no cost. the rules for this are that the dealer must evacuate the system, replace the valve at no cost & replace the refrigerant with what was in the truck. that is it. but this gives you an A/C system that you know has no leaks and you can recharge yourself. if there are any other bad parts in the A/C system the dealer must inform owner of them but is not required to replace. system cooled well a year ago and i think if there is a leak this valve is the problem.
i bought this car from a friend who is a used car dealer. he had purchased it for himself and sold it to me out of pity to replace my fj62 that was crushed by a tree in a windstorm. receiver hitch (used for removable bike rack that is not included in sale). PO had some paint work done (the one before the used car guy - not for anything serious). the clear coat on hood should be wet sanded and redone. the paint is OK - (it is the clear coat only on hood that looks bad - tried to take jpgs of it but it will not show on digital unless really high resolution). typical small worn area on fabric driver's side front seat bottom cushion. would benefit from interior detail to make it really shine and has smaller typical dash crack in center. otherwise, paint & interior in pretty good condition for 15 year old truck. no 3rd seat. engine compartment clean! new motors in 2 of the power windows just replaced (one brand new, one used) and other 2 windows also worked on and lubed. moon roof is operational and good. i would buy this car again in a heartbeat if i didn't just finally find a decent fj60. been a while, but as i remember, some of the original toyota tools were not with car when i got it.
pick up in Tallahassee, FL and drive home. could use tune (been about a year) but she starts every time. last compression check was year before last and was good. no rust truck.
no haggle price is $ 4,800. will consider all offers for more money than that. have been offered $ 4,500 locally - but i don't like the guy. i have searched on the internet and this is the lowest priced fj80 within 300 miles. i am not raring to sell this car since it is paid for and has no problems and is good as second car. i would prefer that it stay in the cruiser community.
