Rust free and engine + drivetrain overhaul. I bought this truck to drive me and the family across country to move from Los Angeles to NY. Was hoping to keep her forever, but my job fell through and I can't justify keeping a pleasure vehicle right now.
Prior to our drive she never left CA, so there isn't a lick of rust to be found.
I immediately replaced every piece of rubber in the engine (except the exhaust hose which I can't seem to find), and replaced the steering gearbox + power steering pump.
On our drive the alternator gave out (you can find the thread of me panicking) and we replaced it with a rebuilt unit and new battery/terminals.
Otherwise she performed perfectly. Easily cruises at highway speeds, and handles great.
Below the photos I've included the full service history. Receipts available on request. I also include the existing issues with the truck and attempted to price it accordingly.
Open to reasonable offers in the ballpark of $14,000.
ALL done within 4,000 miles:
・Rebuilt front end (bearings & seals / knuckle rebuild, new pinion gear, one new hub)
・Rebuilt alternator
・Rebuilt power steering pump
・New steering gearbox
・New engine mounts (left+right) and transmission mount
・New front heater core
・Bypassed rear-heater (to avoid possibility of a common issue with rear heater)
・New battery + new terminals
・New trailer hitch
・New stereo
・New heater hoses and vacuum hoses (all)
・Valve adjustment
・New vinyl on dash + truck gate
・Custom reupholstered front seats
・Full exhaust system cleaning (including both catalytic converters)
Modifications from prior owner:
・Rebuilt engine (top+bottom)
・Roof rack
・Tail light guards
・New paint
・Floodlights
・Auxiliary cooler for transmission
・Upgraded radiator
・33" tires
What's wrong? (from small to big - all estimated at about $1000 total. I can have it all done for a guaranteed sale)
・Drivers side mirror does not fold in
・Missing rear bumper
・AC condenser needs replacing (compressor is good)
・Aftermarket speakers from prior owner were poorly wired and should be swapped out
EDIT: added notes:
・The cat (twin unit) was working overtime for a while due to a stuck fuel injector. It was getting super hot, hence the burnt, red-colored shmutz on it.
・There is a small leak in the transfer case. It doesn't seem to be low on gear oil - but it's worth noting for full transparency. If you leave her parked for a week, you may notice a couple drops. That's the only leak - everything else is fixed. I was told it's a non-issue by multiple mechanics, but you should make your own judgement call.
