Ok, I did do a search first and nada.

Anyone have a good car cover?

I was thinking of a Coverking possibly, but man, they're pricey.

I'm interested in options for covers as well. I'm getting fresh paint in about a month and live 1 block from the beach in SF. Foggy as hell and want to protect this rig. Don't mind spending a few hundred dollars.

not sure, but I think a cover could be BAD...

they are already rust buckets, i wouldn't want to trap any moisture under a cover. Put it in a garage, or get a car awning from costco or something.

The Coverkings supposedly "breaths"

Here's the site: http://www.coverking.com/

A car cover is like $30. A "SUV" cover is like $70.

I asked the guy at the store why, and he said it was cause of all the extra fabric that goes into them, blah blah...

I cut him off and said "bull****, the body on my land cruiser is the same dimensions as the body on my Volvo wagon-- same length, same relative proportions. The difference is the volvo wagon cover is slightly (about 4 inches) shorter than the land cruiser's body.

But it was close enough for paper mill work, so I ordered it and saved $40.

The difference in the Volvo wagon cover and the FJ60 cover is only several square feet of fabric-- there's no reason to pay an extra $40 for it, just cause you drive an "SUV" and soccer moms are willing to pay extra.

You notice how companies take existing products (like Mobil Delvac 1) and label it as "SUV _______" and charge extra for it?

Bull**** I tells ya....

I had one from SOR, real nice, took it off put it in the shed......and some mice or rats made it their home......tossed it, only paid $40 on Ebay though.

considering how well they "breath" w/o a cover - and still rust. I would would not increase the moisture around my cruiser by any ammt. Even with an expensive cover that "breathes".

I've had a Covercraft cover on my 300ZX for 5 years, NC humidity, no rust. The cover even ends up growing some green mold after a while, but no damage to the car paint/body. I think it's the Noah fabric. A bit pricey, but guaranteed for 4 yrs. Mine was almost shot @ 3 yrs, fabric starting to tear easily, so called them up and they shipped me a brand new one for free. 4 more years!

I got mine from Big Sky Car Covers. Good outfit. When you order, you can tell them if you have a rack or not.

i bought a potable 'garage " from Costco for like 100 bucks. anchored it to the ground with bent re-bar.
looks like a big, blue igloo in my back-yard, but it protects my 60 pretty good, and in the summer i can do work on it in the rain.

the tents are nice to keep rain off, but your car can still be affected by the elements, so they don't work well as a car cover.

Ditto on what hammer said. There is a very nice portable Garage that Sam's wholesale club sell's for like a 199.00 bucks. We bought one for tailgating purposes but it is huge. I think it's a 10 by 20. But definatley nice enough to work in. Could make a great rattle can paint booth too. But I would go with a portable garge before I went with a cover. If it's raining and you want to go out it's a pain in the ass to take it off all wet. Just my 2 cents.
