looking foward to my frist run with toyotas! (I have done many with heeps i mean jeeps!

i understand Moab (on the trails) is not dog friendly?

No, my dog and plenty others will be there and on the trails. Only two restrictions that I know is they should be on a leash and not allowed in Canyonlands National Park, which means you can't do the Elephant Hill run. And no, not even if it never gets out of your rig, which I think is just dumber than a box of rocks!

^This. Moab an the majority of the trails are dog friendly. They even have the Moab Barkery.

I wanted to put this out there as well. I have a room available Moab Springs Ranch http://moabspringsranch.com/ if anyone is interested. Our Condo is 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and has a 2 car garage and is directly across the street from Slickrock. We typically do pot luck style diner and breakfast and it's a really nice atmosphere. We have the condo from Thursday through Saturday night. Please PM me ASAP if interested.

The only trails where dogs are strictly prohibited is when we are in National Parks - the Arches run and Elephant Hill. Other than that, dogs are allowed but they must be leashed when outside the vehicle. Be careful about inside the vehicle too. We had a medical emergency last year where a dog was in the owner's parked vehicle and somehow popped it into neutral, where it rolled back and pinned a person between that and another vehicle. Everyone, dogs, kids and adults need to be under control, because wheeling is inherently hazardous.

There is a safety tip in that message. Never trust your gear selection when parking, always apply the parking brake to be safe.

My operational guideline is "when you put the clutch in or put it in neutral, does it roll or stay put?" If it stays put then leaving it in gear is acceptable, otherwise the parking brake is engaged.

Do we get any receipt confirming registration? I got a Paypal email, but that was it.

You should have also gotten an automated email from registration@cruisemoab.com

I looked in your sig line of your post here and do not see a name. If I had your name I could look you up in the registration database. Are you Kevin Mantoani of Calgary? If so, then yes you are in there.

I will be working on assigning trails in the coming days. Once I have everything nailed down, I will send you an email with your confirmed trail assignments.

Yes, I'm Kevin. Doug Stevens here in calgary was in the same boat

He's in there too. Not to worry, I'll get this done. Bear in mind this is a lot bigger than the River Shiver ;)

Plus I just got discharged from the hospital. I would have had this done last Sunday if it weren't for that pesky little brush with death...

I know this is bigger, part of me was worried we didn't get our spots, the other part that you didn't get our money. It's all good

I just got done sending out about 60 personalized emails to those who registered and either had expired TLCA membership or are not in our database as ever been TLCA members. Remember, Cruise Moab is a TCLA sanctioned event, which means all participants must be current TLCA members. Being eligible to participate in TLCA sanctioned events like Cruise Moab is one of the many benefits of TLCA membership!

Jeff, for those that are up to date with TLCA memberships AND registered for CM13, were we supposed to hear back already? Or is that later when everyone hears what they got?

Thanks

No it is a process. First I had to get the Kokopelli and San Rafael Swell folks all set for Jon and Kurt respectively. I then went through the database and sent the roster off to Jennifer at TLCA so she could cross-check who was a current TLCA member and who wasn't. Turned out there were around 60 registrants who were either expired or had never joined TLCA. We need to do a better job of putting that requirement right out there prominently, save me a bunch of work in the future.

I am currently working through assigning trails. I have dozens and dozens of people who have subsequently asked to change from what they first asked for to something else, so I have a lot of balls in the air right now. I hope to start getting those confirmations out soon, hopefully they will start going out this weekend.

Whoa! Glad you're still with us!

Where's the thread?

No thread, I had a life-threatening issue, modern medicine fixed me up and I am on the mend.

Anyway, I got most all the assignments done last night, now to cross-reference with TLCA membership, and line up leaders and gunners for each trail. And there are a few loose ends, am waiting to hear back from some folks to clear up what trails they wanted. It's getting close, the first confirmations may go out either this evening or tomorrow.

As usual, better than 90% of everyone got their first choices of trails. Of course we had to turn down a bunch of folks that wanted in on the overnighters, they filled up like, instantly. The overflow/wait list for the Swell was like 15 or 20 rigs, we could have doubled it. But that's okay, we'd rather have quality than quantity.

Do you still have a room available?
