I'll send again. I've never had this problem on mud. Guess it is the same gremlin my carburetor has.
Ebay? I'm thinking you meant i8mud? Ebay is not my friend since they started charging state tax, a man can only take so much.
I just did a vacuum check off of the intake. After a warmup vacuum is between 17.5 and 18.0. I don't know what the factory spec is. Throttle blips and it comes to rest at those numbers when settled. Any thoughts?
Downey, I'll send you a PM. scoutingranch is correct...small s
Yes, the idle solenoid was working on the original carb. Then changed over to the NOS. That one has no solenoid on it. It's just a plain ol' SD40, small window. simple design. No extra nothing on it. I reckon I'll find someone in town or look until I find the right person. It's hard to...
I have had the worst luck with carburetors lately. Two years ago a sold a '73 Bronco with a freshly rebuilt Ford carburetor . The buyer traveled with a trailer a long distance to buy it as I stated over the phone it ran perfect. He gets to the house with cash in hand, we start it up and fuel...
Lads, I purchased a new distributor cap but didn't install it right away. It has numbers on it but when I follow the 153624 wires to the cap the poor girl just back fires and won't start. The last cap had no numbers...argggg. Can one of you provide just a hand written drawing or picture and...
Just from two pix, it doesn't look bad. Bib, bezel, windshield frame and turn signals are easy to find and change.
For a reasonalbe price I "no nothing"
If it has an L on factory vin plate then it is a factory soft top. Not sure on all years but this '68 has the L on the plate after the Vin. And in some factory brochures, it has the model letters listed.
Living in the Past, what are the odds you and I would have a 40 built in the same month of the same year of '67.
In summation, it appears this original post is going no where.
Just went out to double check my statement and yes the window shows 95 percent full, with a 5 percent bubble at the top. The carb was perfect in all instances after the rebuild but slowly started doing the "odd thing" so I do not blame the builder. It still runs perfect going up an incline...
It is officially a '68 built in Sept '67. Has many early parts, one barrel carburetor on a two barrel intake. '68 was an odd year of crossover items. The window of the carb is always 100 percent filled when running. I admit I have zero knowledge when it comes to carburetors and too dumb to...
I thought I'd post here as I think the fj25 guys are sick of me whining.
My '67 bone stock FJ40 runs perfect, well almost. When I'm on the road turning right it coughs, shutters and dies. I pull over to the curb, crank on it a bit and it coughs to life. Then runs perfect until the next...
