Ignition coil for 1983 Land Cruiser FJ40

It’s a 2F. Igniter and coil most likely came off a 70 series. If you can read the part numbers and Google them that will point you where it might have come from. It is a fairly common upgrade to swap from the original. If you want to send me a PM, with your phone number, I’ll give you a holler...

how the *** can I remove the door vent window in my '79?? .. getting mad here!

There is minuscule screw at the top under the weatherstripping. You also have to pretty much have everything out of the large window first. Tthere is also a bolt that holds the vent window channel in which is also the channel. You might be able to just pivot the Channel at the bottom toward the...

    Removing adhesive without damaging paint?

These are the best I’ve found. The spray can is pretty easy to find and I probably prefer it for most applications.

Looking for a powered sidestep or manual sidestep for a 1981 Landcruiser FJ-40. Does anyone know where one may be available?

This company makes a number of powered steps: https://www.amp-research.com/powersteps?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIiuycsvv59AIVBQutBh3r_ADbEAAYAyAAEgJHGfD_BwE

Mounting a FJ60 Power Steering Pump On an early 2F

I could be wrong but I think the bracket you show is for an FJ62 that mounts power steering high on the passenger side with AC compressor low. So it should line up on the other side of the engine.

    Driveway find restoration. ‘74 FJ40 with 383

Your Toyota dealer parts department can often cut you a key from the vin number (assuming it’s the original column). If you got hard doors, the cylinder inside the passenger door should also have your key code.

There are a few other classic BMW owners with cruisers in their stables. There is a really cool build thread I can’t remember who’s right now. He did a great restoration on his cruiser, sold it, did a few bmws and then bought his cruiser back from the guy he sold it to like 3-5 years later...

    Restmod Air

They’ve got a pretty cool showroom local in Coppell, TX just off 635. If you haven’t been by I think it would definitely be worth a visit. I remember seeing a smaller unit when I was there, that while too small for a 40, might work well in a 45.

    FJ43 Belt Configuration Assistance

Bottom one should be factory configuration. If you click on the belt in the reference table at bottom, it should give you the Toyota part number for OEM configuration. http://japan-parts.eu/toyota/gr/1981/land-cruiser-40/fj43l-kc/6_781210_092_/tool-engine-fuel/1603_radiator-water-outlet/2

1981 FJ40 with A/C and broken radiator overflow

This is non Toyota A/C. You should be able to use the new radiator from Toyota for non A/C trucks.
