ok so i figured out what was up. Seems the cage that has the hole that allows the shifter shaft to move in the l motion doesn't allow me to pull it over far enough to get into high. Seems odd, maybe tweak the shaft to allow enough room to pull it over?
Anyway it isn't a huge deal, at least...
took her for a drive today actually. So thats a big deal. Lots of work over the months, having some issues with no high gear and trying to get that figured out but all in all she runs pretty good, a few small issues but think ill get that figured out soon.
Ok guys what did I do wrong...
Took the vacuum advance shifter out of my cruiser and put in the shifter linkage setup in but I am having a small issue
when I try and take off the thing will only move in 4 low, no 4 or 2 high. Did I miss the placement of the fork on the shifter, is that...
Cooper, not yet. I am just about done. Have to drop the fuel tank and get the fuel figured out and she should be able to run!!! woot.
I'll post pics and video when i get it cranking.
Ok, good and settled. Now back to getting my cruizer on the road. I have been looking at the wiring diagrams again and starting to think maybe a howell isn't so expensive after all.
Am I crazy for thinking about going that route? Is it far simpler than i am making it?
welp, having the correct diagram most likely would help... only thing is it adds more fun.
Still no oil pressure sensor
more vss stuff
elimination of the knock sensor module... which is nice but not sure why.
So now that I have the correct schematic my next question is, what to do with...
Well I want this thing to run as good as possible and I do not want to bypass anything that I shouldn't. The dizzy does not have vacuum advance...
Gonna take a break, starting to get confused on what I need and what i don't. Just realized the oil pressure sensor isn't even on my schematic.
So do I need to Electronic Spark Control, I have been reading on pirate and many people don't even bother with it. If I don't use it what are the downsides?
Thanks copper, i'm going to keep the idle air control for sure. Good to know on the 02 sensor. I'll work on that.
Another question. I got all the wiring thinned out and found all but two sensors... googling and looking for ones that look the part but i have no idea where the knock sensor...
ok guys and gals, started cutting up the stock harness and have a few questions. Do I need the idle air control unit stuff? Also is the oxygen sensor something I can bypass?
When and if I bypass a system, do i just cap it or loop it to another location... seems like it may need a dummy signal...
Yeah John
I am pretty sure I will go to a 5 speed at some point but at the moment I just want to get my pig back on the road and was able to get all this together on the cheap. I figure I can upgrade later as long as I get my tbi stuff figured out.
I'm attaching a schematic I got from a...
Hey everyone. I am currently trying to install a 95 tbi 350 in the pig. Got all the adapters from downey and got it all put together Yesterday. I slapped the whole assembly in for mock up and ran into a few issues.
I knew it would be tight but at the moment I cannot get the stock 3 speed to...
Yeah... here in Montana the best we get is Northwest Parts and Rigging. They are awesome and almost always take care of my weird projects but this size escapes even them...
Anybody know the specs??
