No theft involved. I named the price, and knew what it was. I wanted this truck in the right hands, and that's where it is.
Drive it. New brakes, tires, carb. She's there. Quick front fender patch and bring her back to red?
I agree completely. Even my Dad has come around in his later years. He will admit to the quality of Toyota, and definitely acknowledges that ALL cars are so much better due to the Japanese wake-up provided to the big 3, and the european companies, during the 80s.
I'm late to this party, as I haven't been on the forum for a bit. But, man, this thread really resonates with me. Both as a grumpy(ish) guy turning 50 this year, a Doc trying to stay sane in the field, and as a once and almost certainly future Pig owner.
I didn't grow up with cruisers. My Dad...
Actually the opposite. It was a ghetto driveway fix to get ANY brake pressure out of that single circuit system so I could drive her home and then onto the transport.
Can't wait to see the end result. I think I miss this one most of all after my complete cruiser liquidation.
I had gathered these things up for the green Pig that now sits at @Pigeaten's place. Early non-ABS FJ80 1993-94 master cylinder. I got mine from Kurt. @65swb45 makes a conversion plate for the fire wall to go from 3 bolts to 4. That is supposed to work fine with the rear drums. There isn't...
Indeed, I did. Owned it just long enough to drive it over to my house and get those plates (yes, I kept one). After buying it, the price of my barn to store old cruisers came back, just a BIT elevated from the original discussion. Once the barn cost exceeded $300k, I took a long look at whether...
Maxxis bighorn 30x9.5 on my 40. Maxxis tend to run big, so not as small as they sound. Good tire, I've had several sets. Worked on the 40, might be a little small on the Pig, but certainly bigger than stock. I haven't pulled my wheels yet to know if I have welded or riveted. If welded, I may...
Seriously considering that same size on mine. I like skinny tires. @wngrog had them on project patina, stock 40 springs, looked great.
Mount them up while they are still on the split rims and let's see how they fit
Finally was able to get @Doctorhusband to take a check for the Pig. Still hasn't migrated back to my house. I was paid for the 40 today, so the Pig upgrade fund is flush. Also finally told my wife about the new Pig last night. The usual eye roll  from her.
Table saw if I recall. My techs were nice and lined the fingers up perfectly for the images. I think the hand surgeons were able to reattach these. Had a few snowblowers over the winter, but they usually just grab the tips, never to be seen again.
Anyway gentlemen, be careful out there.
I would argue that if you are taking the time and effort to replace the booster, go ahead and replace the MC and bleed the system while you are at it. A new MC is under $100...good brakes are priceless.
