Just stick the needle thru the rubber. I think the other holes are the factory moulding holes. It does seep thru cracked rubber so cover the seats. The Get Rot I used is just a very slow setting epoxy. It's still holding up.
Good Morning,
My daily driver is a 1989 FJ62 with 250,000 miles. Fires up first thing every morning but on later starts it requires a long crank. It seems to start just as I'm giving up on that crank. Any ideas on what I should be looking for that's causing the slow start?
Thanks so much...

I've owned 4 Land Cruisers and this has happened to them all. I think it's caused by sun exposure. On the top half of the steering wheel the plastic/rubber covering separates from the steel core and feels loose and spongy. I used to replace the steering wheel but...
1989 FJ62 with 245,000 florida miles. Same symptoms, harder and higher rpms to go into 3rd. but sometimes no reverse. I had the kick down cable replaced but ,alas, no improvement. Any suggestions for a next step?
Thank you all for the continuing support,
Dan

The FJ62 has 240,000 miles and is my daily driver. It runs great MOST of the time but every once in a while will not rev above 1500 to 1800 RPM. If you press on the gas pedal it pops thru the intake and loses RPM. This usually happens when accelerating from a stop but has happened at highway...
