    22re Stumble and Stall

So the half Moons are in place. I was able to get it to run much better with my thumb over the front vacuum hose both at the plenum and vavle cover. I'm guessing I'm just cheating the air fuel mixture richer by removing air. That would lead me to my valve cover being leaky so I pulled it and...

    22re Stumble and Stall

Well crap man, I didn't even know those existed. I would have 100% noticed the front one, but the back... That would allow unmetered air into PVC causing a lean condition. Wish I was home right now to check that

Thats where I've been trying to retrace my steps but scratching my head. Half moons? Not sure what you're referring too. No AC, the idle up valve is completely capped. Intake hoses are good, I checked that first because that was my problem last time (can't fool me twice haha)

Flap works because I can here is slam shut when it abruptly stalls and t he fuel pump works as is. I have not tested it because it wasn't touches between running great and not, like not even touched haha. Now the idle air controller I have not. Im not sure why that would cause my issue. Rock...

Like I said I don't think I would be able to dial in timing if it jumped a tooth. Plus I only rotated the motor a few times by hand to check the timing chain between running great and current

Wouldn't it fail to time correctly? Timing is steady and adjusts when I move the dizzy with the bolt loosened. I did that as a sanity check today Oil light is not on, but I don't have an oil pressure gauge

This is a video of it running https://photos.app.goo.gl/TSkBUDpGzyv9sQAj6 Note, that breather isn't on there anymore. I went back to stock set up, but symptoms unchanged

1986 4runner 22re. Used for off road only. In June what ended up being a broken fuel injector plug led me down the road to replace the following before I found it: -Intake boot -EGR Delete (to simplify troubleshooting) -fuel injectors -TPS (from LCE and calibrated per 4crawler) -coil pack -fuel...

    Extended brake line

Ok so update. One very pissed off AutoZone cashier later I found a soft line 18.375 inches long. P/n is 77273 and it even fits the metal tabs that hold in the oem line. Just for good measure I cut off the frame bracket and moved it to between the shock hoops to give me any length back I lost.

    Extended brake line

I'm trying not to order them. Calipers come in tomorrow and I'm trying to knock it out over the weekend. Looking for something like an alternate vehicle equivalent will work

    Extended brake line

So I bought my rig SAS'd so I don't know the history of the parts install. 86 4runner and 84 axle. I'm doing some PM for a trip coming up and the drivers side caliper is shot. I guess years of not being cleaned finally got to it. Went to pull of the hard line and the fittings just fell appart in...

    22re fuel cell

I like that idea, I can't find a marine tank with a return though. Probably because most small engines dont need them.

    22re fuel cell

Ive looked at Jaz for sure, their price point is very appealing. I'm very familiar with the foam issue. Been a passenger before in a rig with foam breaking down and clogging the fuel filter all day. Honestly, I ride most days with the top and doors off, so the sloshing I don't think will be...

    22re fuel cell

Ok so you just extend (or replace) the factory return line so that nice you're running the factory regulator? Makes sense. Thanks.

    22re fuel cell

1986 22RE 1st gen 4Runner, SAS, 35 w/ beadlocks, lincoln locked trail rig I've beat my factory fuel cell into a raisin, factory skid has become irreparable. This is a 90% trail rig only, with the occasional trip to work on a nice day (only work 4 miles away). I plan on running a small 10 gallon...

    Rear spring solution

expected response haha. I know when I'm trying to cheap out. Thanks for all the advice. Construction starts Friday. I'm taking the day off and hope to get a running start on it. Sure I'll have some more questions when I get into the build up.

    Rear spring solution

how important is damping rate when its 100% a go slow rock crawler? Shocks at low speed really just prevent you from bouncing while trying to gas it over an obstacle right? I can buy two hydro shocks for less than the rancho rs9000XL or the Bilstein 7100's (Both look legit). And if we're only...
