    Buyer Beware - Cody Warner - cwwfj60

It was going in circles because you never could give me a good reason to believe you over the transmission shop, and you still can't. Same with the others that posted here. It's easy for you to speculate when it's not your money. But once again, no one can come up with a good answer besides...

    Buyer Beware - Cody Warner - cwwfj60

I never said anything about the work he does or how good of a friend he is. But I'll ask you this since you're a friend of his, would you or even @cruiserjunktion be having this same issue returning it if either of you had bought this transmission from him? I know which answer my money would be...

    Buyer Beware - Cody Warner - cwwfj60

I tried to work this out with you. You ended up not responding to my last texts so I figured you were done discussing it. Say that you buy a 23 year old Land Cruiser with 100k miles, what expectations are there? These trucks have a reputation for a reason, do they not? Mine had 205k when I...

    Buyer Beware - Cody Warner - cwwfj60

TL;DR - Bought a transmission from Cody and it ends up being sketchy. Politely ask to return it, won't take it back. Be careful if you buy anything from him. Here is the for sale thread: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/80-series-a343f-transmission-no-valve-bodies-texas.1202077/ My old...

First time ever being stranded - Transmission issues

Finally have some time to try and get this fixed. Unplugged the harness and found this. I got out my terminal removal kit and tried to separate the wires from the connector but couldn't get any out. Do I need to do something to these tabs on the side to be able to remove any terminals?

First time ever being stranded - Transmission issues

Thank you all for the help, I'll start digging in to the electrical. And yes, the gear indicators in the dash match up with the selector. As for the NSS, is that the one that will keep the ABS from shutting off and locking the center diff when shifted to low range? Whatever that one is it went...

First time ever being stranded - Transmission issues

Sorry in advance for the wall of text! 1996 Land Cruiser, 305k miles, recently had to drive through almost 5 feet of water to get the family to safety after tropical storm Imelda dropped a ton of rain on our area. And not just once, not even twice. It went through several miles of deep water...

    8" driving lights - recommendations?

I didn't want high dollar lights hanging off the front of my truck so I went with some cheapy chinese made Amazon ones. I'd prefer to put some good name brand ones on there but didn't like how easy they would have been for someone to snag. They are 9" round and supposedly are 225W each. Whatever...

    Repainting a rear wind deflector?

SEM trim paint is what I'd go with. It has held up well for me here in Texas for years now. Trim Black Ultra | SEM Products

Put pictures of the wheels you have in yours 80 series

I'm always down to whore out wheel pictures. Got rid of the Method 105 beadlocks and went with Method MR701 wheels along with Discoverer STT Pro tires.

Anyone here running a turndown instead of a tailpipe?

This is what I have. Magnaflow y-pipe, magnaflow second cat, bosal muffler. No drone at all, it's a super quiet exhaust from inside the cabin. Absolutely love it.

    Which Tires Wear Fastest?

Le sigh. Let's think about this, what is that extra tread depth getting you when you're slamming on the brakes? On dry pavement, how much do you think the extra tread is helping? Are the first few thousands of the tire just that much better than the rest? No, because tires don't dramatically...

    Which Tires Wear Fastest?

:slap: We used to also think that cocaine was ok to give kids for aches and pains and heroin was a good cough syrup, but you know, we realized that we were wrong huh? Look, you do realize how much time a company like Tire Rack spends testing tires right? And not just in a very narrow set of...

    Which Tires Wear Fastest?

You're fighting a battle you won't win. Let them be wrong. Tire Rack even sent people to Michelin's proving grounds to test out the claim. New tires in the rear is always best. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=52 I've had this same battle on other forums so...

Transfer Case Rebuild with new gears

While I've never separated that case I have done some Subaru motors before. Getting a butchers knife or any other decent size knife and putting it in the seam then wacking it with a mallet works well. Maybe it will work here too.

Slee vs OME reservoir shocks, or...?

I'm in need of new shocks for my 97 and looking to spend a little more this time. No complaints about the OME nitrochargers that came with the Slee 4" lift kit, they have done well over the last 5 years and 75k miles. My truck is what I'd consider heavy, with me and a half a tank it's right...

    Experience with Chromoly life

As far as I know the Nitro axles have a good reputation along with RCV axles, who made the Longfields for Bobby back when he was still alive if you didn't know. Between those two I don't think you can really go wrong. But then again, you have a V8 and 44s so I imagine you'd have to be pretty...
