Now I have options. This is the other one that I found:
99006HM
Seems to be the bigger, cheaper one, yet still OBD2 safe.
The spun one seems to be the same, just smaller.
Thanks
I need to replace the cats in my 97 lx-450. I want to cut out and weld in a universal converter. I know that some have used a magnaflo converter but I am not sure if I need one or two universal converters? I do NOT want to trigger the check engine light because of the second O2 sensor.
What...
Thought it would be easy but I can only find one screw on top of the front parking light assembly. How do I get the bulb out? Its the one on the outside of the headlights.
Thanks
Had the fan belts break on my wifes truck and it got hot and cracked the seem on the radiator. Replaced the radiator and now it always gets hot going up very small hills when the rpms hover over 3000. The truck returns to normal temp in less than a minute when going back down hill.
Replaced...
The cat is cracked, leaks a good amount of exhaust, and the honey comb inside sounds as though it is in pieces.
Can I replace just the cat? If yes, where can I get one that doesn't set off the check engine light.
If I need a whole new y-pipe, who has the best price?
Thanks,
James
The belts in my wife's 450 broke. It is 7 degrees out. I have searched.
Is there a diagram out there? Napa told me that I only needed 2 belts and they are of different size. I thought that I needed three, true? They are all missing. I know where all the tensioners are but am confused about...
This is on my wife's truck so I am not very familiar with some of the work that needs to be done. I have no manual. I am replacing the alternator. It is free in there, just can't find a path to get it out.
So I got the belts off and the alternator is completely free, I just can't find out how to get it out. It seems to be blocked from every direction. What's the easiest way to get it out?
Thanks,
James
I have never replaced the alt on the 450. In the Rover world, we never go with rebuilt ones as they only last a year or so. I have had good luck with Mean Green but they are$$$.
What do you guys suggest and where would I get it?
Thanks,
James
The diff is over at rovertracks in longmont CO. I will try to get some pics from them.
Thanks for all the help. Remember that Inchworm set it up. They are not accepting any fault at this time. :frown:
Just running 37 MTR's
The threads in the housing are stripped which is why I have to replace the whole thing! The transferance of power through the pinion, to the ring gear, broke the ring gear and blew the adjuster nut out. That's what I am being told happened.
Yes, Jim said it looked like I was heavy on the gas and going in reverse. I was actually going forward on a hill climb. I just can't find anyone that has ever seen this happen.
The entire housing has less that 10k miles on it.
SO, I am running a front high pinion elocker with 4.56 gears in my rover. I was in MOAB and something blew. Pulled everything out and 5 teeth were gone on the ring gear, a tiny chip missing from the pinion, and the carrier bearing side adjuster nut blew out of the housing and stripped the...
Mine blew up but I have most of the parts. I am looking for a front high pinion elocker housing and that is it. I don't need gears or anything like that.
thanks

I need a good condition elocker, high pinion front diff housing, preferably with the side adjuster for the carrier bearings. The threads must NOT be damaged for the side adjuster.
I do NOT need the elocker or gears
